Vigil

The storied past of the Vigil starts with the God Emperor Sigmar, Patron of Man forming this knightly order after the Enemy of Man was finally expunged from the Known World. This order was formed in order to maintain a constant vigil against the return of the Enemy of Man that has been foretold. Since their creation by Sigmar, The Vigil built four main strongholds and constantly manned them for the thousands of years since the Order's inception. Though an honored knightly order, there has risen the question as to the necessity of the Vigil as well as the separate special tax that keeps the order running.
Most the Vigil's time is spent colleting the Vigil tax that was instituted by Sigmar to support the Vigil, training initiates, and clearing the roads of banditry around their holds.

Ranks in the Order

The different ranks within the vigil are as follows: initiate, squire, Ritter , Reichsritter, and Grand Master of the Vigil.

THE FLAMING ROSE

The sigil of the Vigil is a rose wreathed in golden flames atop a red field.

JOINING THE VIGIL

Those wishing to join the Vigil's ranks must travel to the Order's Headquarters, the fortress of Walwache . There the initiates will undergo a closely guarded secret training regime until they are found to be worthy of taking the Vow of the Vigil and joining the ranks as a Ritter .
