Fire Roses

The Fire Roses are a criminal organization unlike any other within the Tahosian Dynasty, blending elements of cultic devotion with fiery revolution. Born from the embers of discontent and spiritual rebellion, the Fire Roses worship fire as a sacred force of transformation and renewal. To them, fire is not merely a tool for destruction—it is a divine symbol of strength, change, and purification. The group’s members, known as Blossoms, view themselves as the chosen few, selected by the flames to bring about a new world where power is earned through trial by fire, not inherited through birthright or wealth.   Founded by Chimalma, a rogue Avatar of the Living God Xalaxos, the Fire Roses emerged centuries ago as a revolutionary force seeking to dismantle the stagnant structures of the Dynasty. Chimalma saw fire not as a weapon of destruction, but as a force for positive change—one that could burn away the rot of the old world and allow for new growth. Under her guidance, the Fire Roses grew into a powerful faction, fusing spiritual devotion to the transformative power of fire with a relentless drive to overthrow what they believe are the oppressive systems of the Dynasty.   The Fire Roses’ operations are far more than simple crime—they are deeply rooted in mysticism, ritual, and philosophy. The gang believes that fire is a test, a divine force that reveals one’s true strength and worth. They use their mastery over fire and primal Magic not just to intimidate, but to purify, destroy, and rebuild. Their goal is not just to gain power for themselves, but to spread their revolutionary ideals across the Dynasty, cleansing the world of corruption and elevating those strong enough to survive the flames.

Structure

The Fire Roses, while chaotic in ideology, maintain a strict internal hierarchy built around their reverence for fire and their revolutionary cause. Their structure is designed to ensure that only the strongest and most devoted rise to positions of power.
  • Blazing Thorn. The Blazing Thorn is the spiritual and tactical leader of the Fire Roses. Seen as the successor to Chimalma, the Blazing Thorn is not just a leader but a living embodiment of the fire’s will. The Blazing Thorn is chosen for their mastery of fire magic and their ability to inspire devotion, and they oversee the entire organization, ensuring the revolutionary flame continues to burn bright.
  • Priests. Priests are the spiritual leaders within the Fire Roses, responsible for guiding the group's rituals, initiating new members, and maintaining the doctrinal purity of the movement. They are powerful pyromancers who lead the group in fire dances, trials by flame, and other rituals designed to strengthen the Blossoms' connection to the transformative power of fire.
  • Flamebearers. Mid-ranking leaders within the organization, Flamebearers oversee the operations of individual cells of Blossoms. They organize raids, attacks, and smuggling operations and ensure that the Fire Roses’ revolutionary message is spread. Flamebearers are respected for their strategic minds and their ability to survive and wield the flames.
  • Blossoms. The rank-and-file members of the Fire Roses, Blossoms are indoctrinated into the group’s fire-centric philosophy through harsh trials. To become a full-fledged member, a Blossom must endure a trial by fire, proving their worth by controlling or surviving the flames. Only those who pass are accepted, marked with burns or tattoos that symbolize their allegiance to the fire.

Culture

The Fire Roses are more than just a gang—they are a spiritual movement, with a culture deeply rooted in the worship of fire as a force of change and renewal. Members believe that fire reveals the truth by burning away the weak and the impure, leaving only those worthy to rise from the ashes. Fire is seen as a divine judge, and the Fire Roses embrace it in all aspects of their lives, from their rituals to their methods of combat and intimidation.   Rituals play a central role in Fire Roses' culture. Initiates are subjected to trials by fire, where they must prove their ability to withstand or manipulate flames. Those who succeed are celebrated, while those who fail are cast aside or consumed by the fire. The group’s gatherings often involve fire dancing, where members perform intricate dances around bonfires, and pyre burnings, where offerings are made to the flames in exchange for blessings and strength.   Internally, the Fire Roses foster a sense of absolute loyalty and devotion to their cause. Members are expected to embrace the flames not just physically, but spiritually, dedicating themselves to the revolutionary ideal of purging the world of its corruption. This fanaticism makes the Fire Roses both feared and respected, as they are willing to sacrifice everything, even their lives, for the cause.

Public Agenda

While the Fire Roses operate largely in the shadows, their public agenda is clear: they seek to dismantle the rigid, corrupt structures of the Tahosian Dynasty and replace them with a new order, where strength and survival are the only true measures of worth. The group believes that the Dynasty’s laws, customs, and leaders are corrupt and stagnant, and only through fire can these outdated systems be purged.   The Fire Roses often target symbols of the Dynasty’s power, such as noble estates, temples, and guild halls, setting them ablaze to send a message that the old order is weak and must be destroyed. They see themselves as the harbingers of a new age, where those who survive the flames will inherit the world.

Assets

  • Fire Magic and Pyromancers. The Fire Roses’ most valuable asset is their mastery over fire and primal magic. Many of their members are trained pyromancers, capable of wielding fire as a weapon, a tool, and a symbol of their revolutionary philosophy.
  • Safehouses and Sanctums. The Fire Roses maintain a network of hidden safehouses and shrines throughout the cities of the Dynasty. These sanctuaries serve as places of worship, training grounds, and operational hubs where members can gather to plan their next strikes.
  • Cult Following. Over the centuries, the Fire Roses have attracted a loyal following among the disenfranchised and oppressed members of society. Their message of revolution and rebirth resonates with those who feel trapped by the rigid social hierarchy, and they have a steady stream of recruits eager to prove their worth.

History

The Fire Roses were founded centuries ago by Chimalma, a rogue Avatar of Xalaxos who became disillusioned with the rigid structures of the Tahosian Dynasty. Chimalma saw the Dynasty as corrupt and stagnant, and she believed that only by embracing the primal forces of fire could true change be brought about. Under her leadership, the Fire Roses emerged as a revolutionary force, dedicated to tearing down the old order and creating a new world where power is earned through strength and fire.   Over the years, the Fire Roses have grown from a small cult of fire-worshippers into a sprawling criminal organization with cells spread throughout the Dynasty. Though Chimalma is long dead, her vision of revolution lives on through the Fire Roses, who continue to spread their fiery message of destruction and rebirth wherever they go.   Despite their chaotic methods, the Fire Roses have survived through their zeal and unwavering belief in their cause. They have faced persecution from the Dynasty’s authorities, conflict with rival criminal organizations like the Obsidian Brotherhood, and even internal strife, yet they continue to grow stronger, their flames burning ever brighter.
