The Vinlands

The Vinlands is one of the constituent regions in the Oathed Kingdom and the home of the realm's capital, Farebrick Sow. It is comprised of the large and fruitful fields spanning the central lands, seated between The Pond and Whitelake. The region produces the lion's share of grain and fruit, effectively responsible for most of the realm's supplies and sustenance.   In this day of the gods, lordship of the Vinlands belongs to the realm's royal family, House Wardmane, ruling the Oathed Kingdom for more than two centuries. Before the holy unification of the east and west, the Wardmanes governed over the Lazanth Kingdom ever since Alfred I Wardmane acquired the title King by right of arms in the Lazanth War of Succession, ending the previous dynasty of House Sander.   Other notable noble families from the Vinlands inlcude houses Coryn, Splinterly, Plymuth.   The Vinlands hold significant importance in the culture and history of the Lazanths. These golden fields and rich waters were one of the first things the Lazanth settlers reached after they traversed the eastern deserts in the ancient times. The western passages were the only parts that bordered the Ereen by land. To reach any border on foot, one must venture into the Vinlands. As such, the region plays a crucial role in the realm's political and economic upkeep as all roads lead to, and from, Farebrick Sow.   The inner fields of Vhurvia represent a chivalrous and holy land, ones of deep tradition. As a countryside wagons travel the roads, wheels rolling beside endless reaches of sun-stricken wheat, it is impossible not to sense beauty, a feeling of deep inner harmony.

Geography

The Vinlands border Dryfeld to the south, Wright to the north, the Peaks to the east, and the Holtlands to the west. Its lands act as the kingdom's crossroads as well-built and finely paved roads pierce the plains leading to the capital. Farebrick Sow is nested between the Pond and Whitelake.   Northern passage into the Wright is made possible by the roads into the Deepwood, diving deep into the wooden thickness, even crossing the large Redstraight River.   The path east marches through the Branch via the Goldroad, leading up to the Finger. The northeastern lands represent difficult areas to travel through, riddled with the Sibling Mountains.   The western path meets the Holtlands at Meadow's Clearing and the Wheatson Path. The Goldroad continues southward into Enkh, eventually ending in Icegrove.   The Mother River is the border between the inner Vinlands and the Southfields, marking the beginning of the plains leading up to the southern lands of Dryfeld.
