The Prophet Tarasúr Character in The Kingdom of Ntiklon | World Anvil

The Prophet Tarasúr (Ta-ra-soor)

The Prophet, whose birth name was Tarawawsúr and usually rendered as Tarasúr, is regarded as the Spiritual Father of the Kingdom and the man ultimately responsible for ending Hursan rule over Enxe. It was the Prophet who brought together enough people, support and successful strategy via His allies that succeeded where every native attempt at revolts failed: breaking the Imperial Army. Following the end of the war, it was the Prophet who led the early consolidation and reformation of the various bureaucracies of the old Imperial government and dynastic local governments towards what the modern Kingdom would have (though this would be finished by the early Ntiklonen kings).   He started out as a young man of the Thumīn people, a collection of tribes living under one of the myriad lesser kingdoms to the East of the Sunrise Coast, across the Dawn Sea. A wanderer who sought knowledge and truth, the Prophet left His people behind to wander the lands for a better understanding of the world. During His travels, met many wise scholars, philosophers and religious teachers. Over time, His views changed. He began to see all mortal faiths as offshoots of the same core ideals and desires. He came to preach of a singular Godhead from which divinity came from. He did not deny other gods, rather he viewed them as either reflections or pieces of the Godhead that did exist in some fashion. He advocated for monotheism but was very firm that polytheists were not enemies of Him or even lead astray by their priests. To Him, they were simply following a smaller piece of the one Divine and that was fine. He believed in time all would follow in His footsteps but made it very clear that forced conversions or discrimination against other peoples' beliefs was something He could not tolerate. This made Him very popular in Enxe, whose native beliefs and traditions were being crushed under the weight of the Hursan Empire and its changing policies in Enxe …
