Krensar Wolf Species in The Kingdom of Ntiklon | World Anvil

Krensar Wolf (Kren-sar)

The Krensar wolf is the main predator that is found in the areas in which the Kmeser tree lives in. The Krensar is rather feared by Kmeser Seekers as the small packs they live in are not afraid to attack humans that encroach on what the pack considers their territory. As the packs tend to claim the land around a Kmeser, this causes the frequency of human-Krensar conflict to rise. Many Kmeser Seekers try to simply locate a tree or group of Kmeser trees then send word to the local or Royal government to then send a detachment of soldiers to secure the site, such is the threat the Krensar's pose to the safe extraction of Leukos.   The Krensar wolf is generally at least the size of, or larger than, a Eurasian wolf. The Krensar diet is typically large herbivores, such as deer/elk and sheep (which eat the many edible parts of the Kmeser) but they will eat smaller prey that can be found nearby such as amphibians or lizards. Rodents and other small mammals are prey to them as well. The Krensar wolves actively avoid human settled areas as much as possible as most packs have learned the dangers of interacting with humans and their livestock. As such, the Krensar are found far in the wilds, away from human settlement. As mentioned though, while they try to avoid humans they will attack humans (even in groups) when they trespass or push into a pack's territory. Since humans seeks Leukos, and said trees are frequently at the center of a pack's territory, that is where conflict occurs.   A small number of Krensars have been more or less domesticated when a pack abandons a pup due to illness or other reasons (and said pup is adopted by humans). This is quite rare as the packs avoid settlements but does occur in the wild badlands surrounding rural farmsteads far from any towns or cities.
