Sons of Montu

Ancient warrior organization, formed to protect the god-kings when Montu sacrificed himself and his Ka merged with Amun to become Amun-Re -the King of Gods. In the time before the exodus of the gods, the Sons we the literal descendants of Montu's brothers, who were Viziers to the God on the throne. While it started with the males of the bloodline, through the rule of Gods, by the time the first Pharoh ruled Khemit, the lineage included all descendants of Montu. The Sons of Montu are ruled by a council of Elders, who help train the next generation and bring law and order to the group. many of the council are Vizier or elders of a city anyways so private meetings would not seem out of the ordinary. By the time a descendant is 18, they are trained in martial combat and if gifted, they become Gaffe to one of the gods on the throne. By 21 upon graduation, they are given a tattoo marking and a few champions learn the secret words of the gods and the knowlege of both the Black Tapestry and Architects of Ma'at so they know how to identify friend and foe. All the descendants have the goal of protecting The Pharaoh and the kingdom.

By the Late Khemitian period, the organization was in the thousands, many were loyal personal guards and generals in The Pharaoh's army. So when the Hyborians invaded, many of the sons died. When Pharaoh Menkamin I died, the sons bought the Ptahmenu and Hemiunu time to escape with The Pharaoh's body. The rest of the descendants fled to outskirts of the kingdom to regroup. During this dark time, any attempt by the Sons of Montu to free Khemit was thrwarted by who they believe is the Black Tapistry with seemingly mystical foresight.

Times have changed the Sons of Montu as is the lost of much of their history. Their early tattoo of Montu as a falcon became a branded symbol of the bull. While they are still trained as warriors, they are now also trained in espionoge to watch for threats both within and outside the nation; a lesson that was learned the hard way against the Black Tapistry. The legend of Montu was lost and diluted over time with Montu being something like the first guard to the first Pharaoh. After the withdrawal of the Hyborians and Khemit gain it's independance, the Sons of Montu revealed themselves to the Pharaoh Psamtik II and offered their services once more as personal guards, spies and Gaffe to protect the pharaoh from any enemy.

Both the Sons and Architects have origins back to the days when Gods walked the earth. They also both have the overall goal of protecting the line of God-Kings (Pharaohs). But they have different ways of doing it. They do have some disagreements in extent of protections (Law vs Good)
