Guiding Spire: Left Staircase

Stairs ascend to the balconies above. There is an abundant amount of light coming down from above. Fine sand has been deposited within the stair well but it’s not difficult to traverse. Looking up it appears that Aolis has included facets of a mirror within the tiles to direct light down the stairwell. Note that these mirrors are glass backed with a silver/mercury coating instead of highly polished bronze. Climbing the stairs, the first balcony is up 20 feet giving a good view of the street and necropolis. The second balcony is at 40 feet and from here the player can see over the front of the temple and into the open space within the Guiding Spire.
DC 15 Perception would see that time and entropy have shifted over time and cracks have in the plaster below the stairwell. A closer look would see that the one large vertical crack is a secret door that has shifted slightly.
Through the secret door there is a small crawlspace beneath the stairs and a wooden trapdoor in the floor. hanging on hooks are a pair of tin lanterns. Opening the trap door and you can see there are more stairs going into a larger chamber below. The room doesn’t appear to have been used or opened since the time of the plague and the lanterns still have oil in them.
Secret Room
Within this chamber, there is an unusual sight; a collection of Khemitian Idols untouched. it seems that while the hyborians demolished the temples, apparently the builders couldn't let everything be destroyed. this room has six large statues (Set, Osiris, Bas, Anubis, Iset, and Amun-Re) and a pile of crumbling papyrus that housed Demotic prayers.
