The Noble House of Auber
The Noble House of Auber has existed for 16 generations and has ties to the courts of Cormyr, Sembia, Chessenta and Chondath. They were initially raised to nobility following a threat to the Sembian throne posed by Dopplegangers, which was thwarted in no small part due to the efforts of Clarence Auber.
Made a Baron in thanks by the queen at the time, the Auber family - traders in fine shoewear at the time - wasted no time in leveraging every advantage possible from this new position.
The next several hundred years have seen the family grow, contract, divided and even fought on different sides of wars between countries and factions across the Sea of Fallen Stars. The core line of the family (though some would contest just who that line consists of) is well-connected, prosperous and opportunistic to a fault.
That Lady Victoria and Lord Roger Auber would move to the burgeoning town of Daring Heights came as no surprise therefore, along with their son, Jean. An elderly couple with both health and fortunes on the decline, they took the opportunity of moving somewhere so distant to step back from the day-to-day business and hand over to their eager prodigy.
The Auber estate in Kantas has focused on land acquisition and agriculture. Jean has even made it on to the Council of Daring Heights, representing all the noble families of the town - a feat which surprised many, including his parents - and has given the Aubers' incredible connections. They are a force to be reckoned, locally, though their wider influence among the Auber clan back home remains to be seen.
