Paradise Frost

The northern areas of Daring Heights - Castleside - are known for busy neighbourhoods and a number of nicer manors - a more residential zone by and large. For the many merchants and traders who have their homes here, they often want a quiet spot to gather and discuss business over a pleasant lunch. Many such meetings are held at Paradise Frost.
Paradise Frost is a large patisserie, with a dozen tables inside for customers. It features a seasonal menu of light sandwiches, pastries and cakes, in keeping with the establishment's owner - an older Eladrin named Jorious. Jorious, an experienced baker himself and someone who is always wearing a colourful outfit to match his daily seasonal aspect, set up the cafe with a partner - an Aasimar named Casillia - whose preference for darker tones to match their pale, even grey complexion strikes an interesting balance between the two chefs.
With these two contrasting owners, one colourful the other decidedly gothic, the cafe's decor is a fabulous blend of the two - with muted or pastel shades representing the current season (they have some rotating decorations to vary the palette accordingly) but with a number of dark elements, like black lace doilies on many of the tables.
As for its products, Paradise Frost is renowned for Casillia's Angelfood Cake (far more decadent than any Angelfood Cake has a right to be), a full afternoon tea set of finger sandwiches and small pastries, and when the weather permits they bring out a modest selection of ice creams, in addition to the various larger sandwiches and salads made from seasonal produce drawn mainly from the surrounding farms of Daring Heights.
Needless to say, this is one of Wendy Eldottir's favourite spots.
