Keladry

One of the best known faces of the first waves of adventurers to arrive in Daring Heights - some met a swift death, unprepared for the dangers Kantas presented; others made a swift profit and went home, boasting of the adventures they had had; a few stayed however, and Keladry was one of them. She was a ranger, preferring to keep on the move protecting the early scouts, hunters, prospectors and so on, rather than hang around much in the Ettin, though she'd poke her head in from time to time looking for work. She was a fierce warrior with a cunning mind, so when the Twilight started rising up, she was always willing to go out on forays to scout out the threat and find ways to undermine them. When a group found their base of operations and made a plan to destroy the bridge out of it to hamper their progress, Keladry volunteered to come along. Only a few people still in Daring would even know that as Keladry was being dragged away screaming by a Twilight-corrupted giant, it took a magical Command from Rholor to pull the barbarian Moth away from trying to save her. The next time they saw her, it was as one of the Twilight, though not a mindless creature but as a leader - fully aware and sentient, now bent on their destruction. She had grown a chitinous exoskeleton and her braided hair had turned to a strange insectoid mass of limb-like dreadlocks, and a pair of bony wings protruded from her back. She set a horde of Twilight on Moth as an example to the other adventurers and flew away, her first act of terror against the populace of Daring Heights. The Twilight were a dangerous foe, but it was the converted and voracious Keladry that inspired the most fear in those months. When she fell in the final battle a wave of relief and sadness washed over all present. After the battle however, her body could not be found. She would pop up again in the employ of Granny Longtooth, now some form of sentient undead creature, still with her Twilight alterations as well, before she fell once again, and hopefully for the final time, in the battle between Granny and Nowhere.
