Personal history

Aspedes was born into the Voss family, a lineage of warriors and scholars in the small, mountainous village of Elden Hollow. From an early age, she exhibited a fierce determination that set her apart from her peers. Raised by her mother, a renowned healer, and her father, a retired captain of the guard, Aspedes was instilled with a strong sense of duty and an unyielding belief in the protection of her family and community. Aspedes discovered her psionic powers during a traumatic event in her childhood. While exploring the woods, she and her younger brother, Kael, were ambushed by a pack of wild creatures. Overwhelmed with fear for her brother’s safety, she instinctively tapped into her latent abilities, creating a protective barrier that shielded them from harm. This incident not only solidified her bond with Kael but also awakened a profound understanding of her powers, which she would later hone through rigorous training.   As she grew, Aspedes became a formidable figure in Elden Hollow, known for her intelligence and strategic mind. Her ability to analyze situations quickly made her a natural leader, and she often found herself at the forefront of village discussions and defenses. Despite her stoic exterior, she was fiercely protective of her family and friends, willing to go to great lengths to ensure their safety.   At the age of 25, Aspedes’s life was irrevocably changed during the Battle of Blackstone Ridge, a catastrophic conflict that pitted her village against a ruthless invading force. The battle tested not only her combat skills but also her moral beliefs. In the heat of the fight, she witnessed the loss of close friends and allies, forcing her to confront the harsh realities of war. In a moment of desperation, she used her psionic abilities to turn the tide, focusing her energy into a massive shockwave that disoriented the enemy, allowing her people to regroup and retaliate.   However, the victory came at a high cost. Many lives were lost, including that of her brother Kael, who fell while defending her from an enemy soldier. The weight of his sacrifice bore heavily on Aspedes, leading her to question the nature of power and the morality of using her abilities in combat. She emerged from the battle not only as a celebrated hero but also as a woman haunted by grief and guilt.   Now, Aspedes exists in a state of quiet resolve. She has become a guardian of her all her Convents and a mentor to young warriors, teaching them the importance of strategy, intelligence, and the ethical implications of their powers. Her stoic presence commands respect, but those close to her understand the depth of her pain and the internal struggle she faces between her dedication to protect and the fear of wielding her powers recklessly.
