Session VI Report
The Rescue
General Summary
14th of Foen, 120 MA
After a harrowing battle with the Night Hag, and losing the amulet they had just acquired, the party went back to Hillhook to rest. The next morning, not knowing their next move, the party decided to head north. As all clues seemed to be pointing that way.Shortly in to their journey the party head screams coming from a young boy. The group managed to calm the boy, and found out he and his family had been attacked. He managed to escape, but the rest of his family was captured by his attackers. However, he was being tracked down. A few minutes later, a group of four figures appeared asking for the boy. The party was not giving him up, so a battle broke out. This was not the parties first fight with the Plate, and so they made way with them quickly.
After the fight, the boy told them that a lady had attempted to help his family in the fight. After giving a description, the party recognized this lady to be Lucia. The party travelled a little further to where the attack occurred and found a set of tracks to follow.
Along their way they came across an old blue scaled dragonborn named Aclex. He claimed to be a nomad travelling the region, headed for Hillhook at the moment. He helped the party by telling them he saw a caravan heading north, surrounded by a number of figures.
After a few hours of following the tracks, they veered off from the main path headed west. By duskfall the party reached their end. A moderate size encampment built off of a small hill side. After some reconnaissance the party located the prisoners, but also a fair number of guards in the camp. The group managed to sneak into the camp and release the prisoners, but in the process would be spotted. A decent combat ensued. The prisoners managed to escape while the party fended off the Plate. In the frey they attacked the presumable leader, a large fat goblin sitting atop a wooden throne decorated with a large 2x2ft adamantium plate at its top. The leader immediately surrendered as the rest of his men fought and died.
After the fight, the party realized that Lucia was not amongst the prisoners. They interrogated the goblin. He told them that she had been taken by a group he works for, known as the Black Tongue. He also mentioned that they were coming back soon to grab the remaining prisoners. The party not risking anything, killed the goblin.
Coles Shywen introduced himself, thanking the party for his rescue and the saving of his son. He informed them that he is a powerful figure in the Kingdom of Valer, and that if they find themselves there and in need of a favor that they should contact him. Coles and the rest of his family then embarked once again. Now the party lies in wait to catch this returning group of Black Tongue...
