Session Eight of "The Horrors Beyond the Crypt!"
General Summary
We start the session at around 4PM on Monday, May 27th, 3168 Era of Blood. The party decides to take a long rest to ease their wounds. This leads them to around 6AM the following day. As soon as the party leaves the tavern, they notice a human arguing with a Tiefling. The human is calling the Tiefling a "Demonfolk" and requesting he leaves town. He says he isn't hurting anyone and that he should be allowed to stay. Bianca listens as the human says his kind doesn't belong and started to throw a punch at the Tiefling when Bianca stepped in and blocked it. She intimidates the man and gets him away from the Tiefling. The Tiefling, named Methos, thanks them and continues on his way. The party decides to buy clothes for the wedding later that night at 7PM after all of this. Before doing so, Bianca stops at the Gnome Depot pet store to brush things over with Aliane, the human Druid from the other night. They left on neutral terms, as Bianca told her the full story of Mr. Ruffles, and she understood that lying to Lillian, the old woman, was a necessary evil. They leave Gnome Depot and head to Designer's Den, the clothing store in town. They meet Valindra Vennelis, an Elvin woman who designs clothing for the town. They manage to work together to get clothing for the wedding. Bianca gets a nice purple and black dress, with a purple cloak, and black heels. Kimball gets black dress pants, a white dress shirt, and a dark blue bowtie. William gets a neon pink bedazzled cloak, against his better judgement. They all look swanky and William pays for everybody. William heads back to the tavern to await the wedding, while Kimball and Bianca head to Soulphora, where they meet Peleno Vennelis, Valindra's twin sister. Much like at the Designer's Den, they obtain a good deal for a mani-pedi, and makeup.
Before heading back to the Ugly Badger tavern, Kimball and Bianca run into the man who was harassing the Tiefling this morning. He is now begging for money on the streets. He seems disengeniune when Bianca comments on him, making sure the man doesn't bother Methos anymore. Kimball and Bianca get back into the tavern and order some food and drink to pass the time. They both order grilled cheese sandwiches, while Kimball gets an ale, and Bianca gets a glass of apple juice. Kimball, being the adventurous type, buys both of them a drink known as Hornet's Breath. It's a drink made from Orcish Moonshine, as well as pickled hornet venom. It puts most people, including Dwarves and Tieflings, on their ass, due to its strength, however, Kimball is able to drink it and stay concious. Bianca, on the other hand, falls off the barstool and is unconcious for several hours. She wakes up with a strong hangover. When she awakes, at around 6PM the same day, she tries to eat her food from earlier. It had gone cold, and she didn't enjoy it too much, not being able to keep it down. She feels much better after throwing up a bit, and they head to the wedding.
At around 7PM, the wedding starts, with Aqualis and Alyndra's friends gathering in the Dawnbury Park. The gang chats with each other until it is time for the ceremony to start. The ceremony starts when the group notices the strange minister ordaining Aqualis and Alyndra. He coughs green smoke and speaks in terms the party, or anyone, really, doesn't understand. They come to find out that it's the Dapper Dabber disguised as a human. He quotes Snoop Dogg's "Drop it Like it's Hot" when speaking about a famous officiate. While he speaks nonsense as his disguise, Reverand Cash Dollar, the wedding ends with Aqualis and Alyndra kissing each other. He disappears in the bushes, leaving everyone questioning who he really was.
After the ceremony, William goes to the tavern to pack up stuff in their room, as Kimball and Bianca head to the Goblin Encampment to see Glorx before they head out the next day. As they arrive, they notice that the entire camp is empty. They go investigate further, when they hear loud snapping, like that of breaking a bone. They continue further to find a huge massacre of the Goblins, including Glorx, by the hands of a single Skeleton Warrior. Bianca sneaks up behind it and is able to subdue it, sending it back to the realm it came from. The two hear footsteps approaching from the North and quickly leave. They head back to the tavern to inform William that there are Skeletons nearby and the town may be in danger. They also inform him of the Encampment being slaughtered. William suggests that they tell Aqualis about the incident, leading to a confrontation with her and Alyndra. Aqualis states that she has leeway with the town council and will be able to convince them of fortifying Dawnbury, as well as not letting anyone leave the town's limits. William and company fill her and Alyndra in on Oceania and their mission, as well as who they are up against. They are taken aback, but are steadfast in protecting the town to their dying breath. When suggested that they come with the party, they state that they must stay and help those who may not be able to defend themselves. Aqualis leaves to go tell Margaret Threacher, the town head official on the council, before the party decide to leave town and get a move on to the Summer's Redoubt Train Station. They attempt to leave, but they notice that, already, the guards in town have doubled in size. Not being able to leave town, William persuades a guard to let them through. They continue on foot to the train station through the night, eventually stopping at around 2AM to make a campfire. They rest for a bit, heading out at 6AM the following day. The session ended at 6AM on Wednesday, May 29th, just before the party continued heading towards Summer's Redoubt.
