Set
Origin
Very brief version of the story:Set's mum, Easifuh, is one of the earliest followers of Nethys.
Easifuh is the leader of a tribe of Abn Awaa down in the modern Brazen frontier region.
Nethys arrives and shows his power and magic, Easifuh can not contest his power, as when he is flying and sourrounded by winds, no range attack can hit him.
Easifuh says 'Well, that's certianly impressive, however, along the mountain range is a tribe of Alsaqru with an archer that can hit anything, I wouldn't consider you unhittable unless Ra fails.
They travel with Easifuh's tribe to Ra's tribe, and Ra fails to hit Nethys.
Both of them join Nethys.
Post founding of Osirion
There are many threats to Osirion beneath the earth, in the 'Vast Below'.Easifuh's tribe maintained safety, in large part through her diplomacy with near by tribes, often taking the very Abn Awaa approach of providing a condition, and a consequence if it is broken.
Nethys tasked Easifuh with finding a way to deal with the Vast Below in a way that wouldn't require a large military and hundreds of fortifications guarding the enterances, and he tasked Ra with finding out how to defeat the creatures down there (Orcs, Deorro, Duergar, Drow, etc), if it came to that.
Meeting Ereshkigal
Easifuh found the Drgitza Queen, Ereshkigal in the caverns below modern day Trinity.She found that her and her people could be reasoned with, and made an initial deal that involved Osirion giving Ereshkigal resources to expand her domain, and their domain providing a buffer state between Osirion and the monsters of the Vast Below.
Traveling the Planes
As Osirion began to travel the planes, Ereshkigal took over the responsibility domestically of ensuring Osirion is protected from the Vast Below, and her domain and Osirion's merged.Easifuh was now tasked with speaking with the creatures of whatever plane they had arrived at, be it the Shadow Plane, Plane of Fire, or later, Hell and the Abyss.
Easifuh had the ability to best understand how these people thought, negotiate with them and predict their actions.
Birth of Set
As Osirion worked to create alliances in the Great Beyond, Easifuh had a child, Set, with Dispater, Lord of the Second Layer of Hell, ex-husband of Ymiri, Queen of the Inferno and god of fire.
Departure of Nethys
When Nethys went insane and departed Osirion with Azghaad, Easifuh continued her role of dealing with evil outsiders for Osirion, now serving Pharaoh OsirisDealing with Demons
Osiris and some other gods came to a plan that involved befriending many Demon Lords, and then in a great betrayal, killing some and seizing many of their Artifacts and tombs of knowledge that Osirion desired.The logic being, the Pantheon of mortal Osiriani gods could easily take on the divided set of Demon Lords, and the Demons were not popular accross the Great Beyond regardless, so continuing to deal with them in a friendly manor would cost Osirion much Social Capital.
Easifuh advised against this, saying that while it's likely true that Osirion can best the divided Demon Lords in these circumstances, that the Abyss is a chaotic place, circumstances may not be as we planned for them to be, the Demon Lords could have tricks up their sleves, and that this action could likely unite them against us.
Osiris decided to continue with the plan anyway.
First Demonic Incursion of Osirion
The plan went poorly, the Demon Lords were sometimes stronger than anticipated, and they quickly banded together in an alliance against Osirion lead by Lamashtu, though they escaped with numerous artifacts, a number of Gods of Osiroin died.Easifuh and her son Set refused to take part and guarded the portal to the Abyss.
Easifuh sacrificed herself to enable Set to successfully close the portal to the Abyss, saving Osirion (and the world) from being overrun with Demons.
Set kills Osiris.
In the coming decades, Set killed Osiris and became the Pharoh of Osiroin.Osiris' son, Horrus and wife, Isis fled to Southern Osirion and the nation was divided. Set's brother, Anubis who was the adopted son of Osiris, sided with Horus.
Neith negotiates a deal between Set and Horrus
Approximately a century later, a truce was declared, with Horrus becoming the Pharoh of Osirion.His reign continued for approximately 500 years until the Exodus of the gods.
