Vloria Desert

South and east of the Anvil Peaks lies a realm of sand and rock, where little moves but the wind-blown dust and water is more precious than diamonds. The Vloria Desert is a hostile place; burning heat by day and freezing cold by night, filled with fearsome monsters. The heart of civilization in this inhospitable place is the deep Rusakra Canyon and the river that flows through it. Near its source in the Anvil Peaks is Kirburg, the great trade city, where one can find travelers from the Kingdom of Greenwood, Dragonborn tribes, Rokara dwarves, and treasure-hunters of all backgrounds.

Geography

The Vloria Desert is a vast expanse of sand. Dunes slowly move throughout the desert, blown by the wind, and a permanent path is hard to come by even through rockier ground. The Rusakra River runs down from its sources in the Anvil Peaks, forming the Rusakra Canyon, the only major landmark in the desert.

Fauna & Flora

To the untrained eye, the Vloria Desert is a wasteland where nothing can possibly live. On closer inspection, though, it reveals a great variety of incredible plants. Some plants survive for months on a few drops of water; others have roots that stretch hundreds of feet into the ground; there are even patches of slime that seem to live without water just as well as with it. The banks of the Rusakra River are fertile, and Kirburg sustains itself not only through trade but through the canyon farmland as well.   Animals are also varied, from tiny lizards and beetles to foxes and hunting eagles from the Anvil Peaks. Below the surface, Cave-claws are common.

Natural Resources

The Vloria Desert is home to great lodes of copper, tin, and iron, as well as rarer silver and gold. Rokara mining towns dig deep into the rockier parts of the desert, turning up great quantities of metal.
