Brightriver

For centuries Brightriver has been the largest city in the Greenwood Dale and the capital of the Kingdom of Greenwood. Its location where the Leafall River meets the High Road and the coast brought trade by a variety of routes. Brightriver remained untouched by most wars prior to the formation of the Three Kingdoms, until the Six Years' War that devastated the city and the region around it. Most of the population is human with a substantial minority of halflings, and many within the city are members of the powerful merchant companies that it and Wavemeet are known for.

Brightriver is ruled by the Duke of Brightriver, who is usually the King of Greenwood (currently King Ardwulf Symond IV).

Industry & Trade

Brightriver thrives on trade. Its location at the mouth of the Leafall River gives it control over the lumber trade, in addition to placing it at an important port for southbound trading ships. The High Road also runs through the city, placing it along the largest land route.

Geography

Brightriver is located on the northern side of the mouth of the Leafall River. The ground is mostly rocky and hard, with few plants other than low grass. To the west, the ground gently slopes down to meet the ocean.
