Greenwood Dale
The fertile Greenwood Dale is the center of civilization on the High North Coast. Its soil provides food for the Kingdom of Greenwood, supporting the cities to its west. It is home to Brightriver, the capital of the Kingdom of Greenwood, as well as numerous other towns and villages. But it is plagued by goblin raiders from the Greenwood Forest, roving bandit gangs, and monsters out of the mountains.
Geography
The Greenwood Dale is a wide valley of rolling hills between the Rampart Mountains in the north and the Anvil Peaks in the south. It is fertile, and much of the eastern Dale is rich farmland. The northwest area of the Greenwood Dale is covered by the Greenwood Forest, which makes up about a third of its total area.
Fauna & Flora
Grass covers the ground everywhere in the Greenwood Dale, thinning only at the mountains. Small groves of oak, beech, and elm trees are common in the southwest, but nearly nonexistent in the east. Horses roam much of the Dale, and deer, rabbits, and colorful birds are also very common. Wolves, eagles, and bears are the usual predators in the Dale.
Natural Resources
The Greenwood Dale is rich in natural resources. Fertile soil allows abundant crops to be grown as well as livestock, mainly cattle and sheep, to be fed. The Greenwood Forest provides lumber, and mining towns in the south provide a source of stone and iron from the Anvil Peaks.
