Oaks
Oaks is a street samurai who is dedicated to a specific type of meditation in which one connects to The Ether. Friends often jokingly call him "the beauty", due to his unnaturally hideous face. Oaks is typically quiet and relaxed, paying little mine to petty insults. When he does speak he often uses the wrong words, a symptom of spending so much time detached from the world. Oaks values knowledge above all things, but those close to him are more than aware of his true feelings for Yo-Dime. Those closer know that he is deeply troubled by the conflict between his romantic interests and his dedication to forgoing attachment and ascending this plane of consciousness.
When Sakura was attacked by the Black Riders, Oaks was taken prisoner and tortured for the codes to open the secret temple to Horus. Never giving in he held to his last breathe. When Carbide arrived to stop the threat, he was too late. Oaks was killed and returned to life as a ghoul. Seeing no life or hope left in his old mentor's eyes, Carbide used Oaks' old katana to put him to rest.
