A demigod of Norwegian descent that is famous and respected throughout the world for her expertise and mastery in the medical field.

She is the daughter of the Greek Goddess Eileithyia, the Goddess of Fertility, Childbirth, Midwifery and Labor Pains, and a legacy of the Norse Goddess Freyja from whom she is named. She is a world-renowned Fertility Doctor and Matron of the Greek Military, including the 1st Half-Blood Regiment. Freyja possesses the extremely rare ability of Fertility/Fetus Creation, once thought to be exclusive to Fertility Goddesses. With this ability Freyja can create embryos, fertilized eggs or fetuses inside of women by simply putting her hands over the woman’s womb and channeling her power into the woman. Freyja is the Chief Medical Matron General of the Military, the single highest rank a woman can attain in Greece.

Freyja is 29 in the beginning of Book I and 34 at the start of Book 2 when the timeline catches up.

Freyja is the Half-Blood daughter of Eileithyia, the Greek Goddess of Fertility, Childbirth, Midwifery and Labor Pains. Her mother, Ingrid, was a daughter of the Norse Goddess Freyja, the Goddess of Fertility, Sex, Love, War, Death, Beauty, Gold and Seiðr(type of sorcery) then had a child with Eileithyia. Making Freyja not only a Legacy of the Norse Goddess Freyja, a recent descendant of two Fertility Goddesses, but also the offspring of two women, one mortal and one Goddess who used her abilities over childbirth to use an Immaculate Conception to place the fetus of Freyja inside of Ingrid.

Romantic Experience: Freyja has dated only a handful of people in her life, despite what people would assume considering her rank of Matron, a title who are strict, sworn virgins. She had dated two fellow students while in Medical School in Norway, but they both ended when the other students were transferred to help assist in the never-ending war. Freyja then gave up on dating when she moved to New Sparta, Greece, to begin studying there. During that time she met Verania when she had already claimed the title of Matron and hand-picked the woman to be the Captain of her elite Honor Guard.
Sexual experience: Verania is a sworn Virgin and she takes her oath seriously. She has to, because if she is caught breaking it, she, along with whoever she broke it with, would be killed.

Freyja jokes(secretly) that she has enough chest for several fertility goddesses(which considering she’s the descendant of two, or three, if you include Hera, could be true). Freyja used to be self conscious about her size, height and rather ridiculous bust size, but is now comfortable with it and sees herself as rather beautiful.

Accelerated Healing: Freyja has incredibly fast and powerful healing abilities that she can use to heal others by simply touching their injury and channeling her power through them.
Accelerated Regeneration: Freyja has incredibly fast and powerful self healing abilities. She can mend bone, regrow skin, heal burns, regrow hair and even completely regrow fingers, toes, ears and noses.
Amokinesis: The ability to arouse romantic love and passion in others.
Amokinesis Immunity: The ability to be Immune to Amokinesis.
Battle Skill: As the Goddess Freyja is the Goddess of War, Freyja is extremely skilled in combat, however she only ever counters, blocks and deflects attacks as she is a pacifist.

Biokinesis: The ability to manipulate and modify one's anatomy, heal oneself or others. Notable wielders of this ability are Lord Apollo and other healing deities.

Fertility/Fetus Creation: The extremely rare ability to fertilize eggs or create an embryo inside of a woman by will, not by traditional, physical, sexual fertilization. With this ability, someone would be able to simply wish or make another or themselves pregnant without need of intercourse or divine assistance. This ability is usually reserved to Fertility Goddesses exclusively, with only one instance in recorded history of a mortal, Freyja Gyldenløve, wielding the remarkably rare ability. With this rare ability, Freyja can create embryos, fertilized eggs or fetuses inside of women by simply putting her hands over the woman’s womb and channeling her power into the woman. With this ability, Freyja can even decide the gender and health of the baby. Due to her unique power, she is sought out by many couples in Greece that can't have a child so that she can give them one. She does this outside of the military and will only do so for people she deems suitable to have children. But she has sworn to never use this ability on unwilling people.
Labor Pain Nullification: The ability to nullify or completely remove Labor Pains from a pregnant woman.
Necromancy(Limited): The Goddess Freyja receives half of the souls that die. While Freyja can only sense when someone is within an hour or so of death. She uses this ability to know if her patients are dying, making it a very useful ability for a Matron.
Odikinesis: The ability to manipulate feelings or emotions of war, such as anger, rage and hate, in others.
Pacemiakinesis: The ability to create and manipulate peace.
Reproduction Manipulation: The ability to freely alter and manipulate, not create, the process in which living organisms produce offspring, such as the ability to delay or speed up the birthing process. The most notable wielder of this ability is Lady Eileithyia. Freyja is able to affect a baby in the womb by touching the mother’s stomach.
Seiðr: Freyja possesses the slight ability to see brief glimpses of the future, though they act more like prophetic glimpses as she can't control when or if she sees them.
Toxin Immunity: The ability to be immune to toxins.

Apparel & Accessories

Medical Uniform: Freyja’s uniform resembles a WW1 nurses’ uniform. With a white headdress that flows back past the shoulders, a pure white apron that comes down from her shoulders and down her front and forms into her deep red dress. When not tending patients, she wears a matching deep red cloak over her shoulders. Her dress is long sleeved and has long white cuffs over her wrists. She wears a wide, white belt that covers her waist to just under her chest. On the front of her belt is a circle with braided knots, the symbol for her grandmother and namesake, Freyja. On the front of her apron is the symbol of the Rod of Asclepius, the god of medicine. It depicts a single snake entwined around a pole or rod. The symbol of the Medical Society of Greece and the Medical Corps of the Greek Military. Her headdress bears a deep red band with a blue stripe over her forehead, announcing her rank as Matron. She also wears a white band on her left arm that bears her rank, M-9 - Chief Matron Medical General of the Military(CMMGen). The single highest rank one can achieve in the Medical Corps and second only to the Supreme General and the government.

Military Dress Uniform: Only worn at military funerals, high ranking meetings and ceremonies. The uniform consists of a long, deep red dress, white belt, no apron, a long shawl with black on the outside and deep red on the inside and her white headdress. She also wears her various military ribbons over her heart.

Casual Wear: Freyja always dresses modestly, even when off duty. She wears nothing shorter than an ankle length skirt when around other people. But when alone she may don a simple dress.

As a pacifist, she doesn't carry any weapons. But she does carry a variety of medical tools and healing ingredients on her at all times. She only fights to defend, block and counter attacks

Personal history

Freyja was born in the Northern Mainland Region of the Nordics in a port town. Her mother, a professional midwife and nurse, taught her the ways of love and kindness, as well as medicine and midwifery at a young age. Instilling in her the idea that all war, conflict and killing is fundamentally wrong.

As a young woman, Freyja attended the famous Royal Northern Medical University of the Nordics and quickly became the top of her class. But she believed that her knowledge and experience would grow considerably more if she went to a larger, older, more famous school. So she decided to move to New Athens, Greece to attend the world-famous and envied Asclepius University of Medicine and finished out her extensive education there.
After graduating with full honors at the top of her class, she was selected to join the elite Intensive Care Unit of the Greek Medical Corps where she joined the Virgin Medical Corps under the current Matron and personally received an extensive training, mentorship and education under her. When the time came for the current Matron to leave the Mortal world, Freyja was selected after saving the life of the Supreme General after the base was attacked by Romans.
Now as the youngest Matron in Greek history, Freyja works in the 1st Half-Blood Regiment to personally train the Medics. She also spends a lot of time traveling to local and far off hospitals via her personal state of the art Airship to assist in especially difficult or dangerous operations or births and quickly mentor current doctors, nurses and medics.

Freyja was born in Norway and raised by her single mother, Ingrid, a professional midwife and nurse. Ingrid was a daughter of the Norse Goddess Freyja and used her abilities to assist women when they gave birth. Ingrid always opposed the Roman rule of the nearby landmass, and taught Freyja the ways of love, teaching her that violence was inherently wrong. Ingrid supported Freyja in becoming a nurse and following in her mother’s footsteps when she discovered her incredibly rare and remarkable powers to create life inside of the womb.

While in the world-renowned Royal Northern Medical University of the Nordics, Freyja briefly dated two different women, but they both ultimately ended when they were shipped off to aid in the war. After some time, Freyja decided that she would make a better impact on the world if she got more medical education, so she moved to Greece to study at the Asclepius University of Medicine in New Athens, Greece. Once there she graduated top of her class despite being a non-native Greek and was offered a guaranteed spot in the elite Intensive Care Unit of the Greek Medical Corps. After a few years of quickly climbing the ranks, Freyja was promoted to the highest and honored rank of Chief Matron Medical General of the Military(CMMGen) when she saved the life of the mortally wounded Supreme General himself when his office was attacked by Roman soldiers. She was then requested to join the First Half-Blood Regiment by Col. Dreven Wolfe, as he wished to only have Demigods and Legacies in his unit to train the Half-Blood recruits and he knew that she was the best person suited for the job.

Prior to joining the 1st Half-Blood Regiment, Freyja hand-selected the Roman-born Verania Ulixes to be the Captain of her elite Honor Guard. A decision that was not appreciated by many in the military because none of the Matrons before had any non-Greek Guards, but because she was the Matron, her word was final and they could not say anything about it again. Because of the nature of the job of Captain of her Honor Guard, Freyja and Verania soon became close friends, spending nearly all of their waking hours with one another. But when the day came that the secret Verania had been hiding from the military for years came to light, they were forced to split ways when Verania was excommunicated from the Honor Guard for lying about being a Virgin when she joined the Virgin Medical Corps ranks of Verania's followers. Verania was forced to transfer and she and Freyja hadn't seen one another again until Colonel Wolfe asked them to join his team.

Now Freyja is working to ensure the safety and comfort of the young Half-Blood recruits. She appalls the decision the Supreme General made in forming the 1st Half-Blood Regiment. She uses her immense influence and power to do everything she can for them. Despite not agreeing with the assignment, she committed to assisting the Colonel because she wanted to personally see that the children were cared for. So she stayed on the assignment despite her conflictions.

She was selected to attend the famous Royal Northern Medical University of the Nordics at the young and impressive age of sixteen. There she spent over four and a half years studying at the top of her class before she moved to Greece.
In Greece she was easily accepted into the top medical school in the world, the famous and envied Asclepius University of Medicine and finished out her extensive education there. She graduated top of her class after four years education.
As soon as she graduated she was selected to be a member of the elite Intensive Care Unit of the Greek Medical Corps where she joined the Virgin Medical Corps under the current Matron and personally received an extensive training, mentorship and education under her.

Freyja has one of the most illustrious, impressive and elite medical educations in the history of the Greek Medical Corps and Greek Medical Society. Having been the only Matron to ever having grown up outside of Greece, she is the only Matron to have traveled outside of the country and therefor the only Matron in Greek history to receive an education in a non-Greek medical institution.
