Vittorino Mezzanote

Vittorino Alessandro Mezzanotte (a.k.a. Rino, Sheepy)

Reserved and introverted, Vittorino is an adventurer that was drawn to the possibilities that the Weave offers. He is a wizard of the School of Evocation, and therefore knows how to deal severe amount of damages using one spell. His shy demeanor does not indicate easily his potential, probably to hide it. What Vittorino lacked in social confidence, he made up for with his growing mastery of the arcane forces. However, even if he is a strong mage, he has shown multiple times that his social skills more often put his party in danger rather than safety.
It was later found that due to a magical experiment involving The Purple Dragons, Vittorino was able to harness power from a dragon heritage, much like a sorcerer. It is worthy of note that something triggered the effect. We are currently uncertain what did but we assume it was caused by a sudden charge of magic, notably when he got polimorphed in his second mission.
He joined the Guild in 1510. According to reports, he was supposed to be an intern but was convinced by Patron Rona to become an adventurer.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Even though he had a wealthy family, Vittorino is slightly skinny. He also possesses an androgynous body type.
Moreover, both of his hands are burned up to the elbows due to a magical experiment he was apart of before joining the Guild. To this day, he wears long gloves to hide it.

Body Features

Other than the burn marks on his arm, Vittorino also has little patches of brass scales on his body, specifically around joints (shoulders, elbows, knees, etc). He also has a set of horns similar to a ram. Again, this form might be caused by the triggering Polymorph spell and the experiment he was apart of.

Facial Features

Vittorino has brass colored eyes with reptilian pupils. He also has fangs ever since his transformation.

Specialized Equipment

The gloves that he wears to hide his burn marks are actually spell focus. He is able to use these gloves to cast spells without having to rely on a wand.

Personal history

The Mezzanotte is a family that gained wealth with the rise of Allessandro Mezzanotte. He was a strong paladin but nowaday, he spends more time training younger knights. The rest of his seven children struggle to live up to this legacy. In such, Vittorino's parents as well as himself feel pressured to accomplish something close to greatness. It is even more relevant that Vittorino is the first male born of his family and received even more pressure, especially from his mother.

Unfortunately, Vittorino did not have the spirit of an unstoppable warrior. He was skittish and even if some relatives found him cute for it, most of them saw him as pitiful, and only received disdain, jealous that he was treated like a spoiled child. His mother, even if she was pressuring him, was also overprotective in some instances.

With time, his siblings left the family house, leaving Vittorino to focus on his studies. Though, because he was reminded of how weak he was, he ended up signing for an experiment conducted by The Purple Dragons of Cormyr. It was concluded as a failure. Vittorino was looking for something new and since greatness was not his forte, he joined the Guild as an Intern at first. However, he was later convinced by Patron Rona to become an adventurer instead.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Vittorino is very anxious and prone to overthinking. However, he has an adventurous streak. It seems that even if he feels like his doing will only bring mistakes to his teammate, he keeps going. He is quite curious at the prospect of doing something new.
When something goes right, the praises he might receive from it are enough to keep him excited for a new mission. It seems that he is driven by a deep need to prove himself to the world. It might be caused by the sheltered life he had before joining the Guild.

Personality Quirks

Vittorino has a bunch of quirks that are visible almost anytime he interacts with someone.
He tends to play with loose locks of hair whenever he’s thinking or talking at length. He has a 'security' item, he will hold onto whenever he gets nervous. If he does not have any item around, he will hold onto a person or an animal around.
At The Laughing Lapis, he has been seen ordering a lot of sweet food and beverages. It is fair to assume he might have a sweet tooth.

Family Ties

Vittorino is a triplet sibling of Evangelina Mezzanotte and Vincenzo Mezzanotte, who are both members of the Guild as well. He is also the younger sibling of Lucilla Mezzanotte.
He is also the son of Diviner Loreto Mezzanotte and Cleric Antonio Mezzanotte, both dealing with the Plague.
Most of his family lives in Waterdeep and Lynvar. His relatives are followers of Lathander and therefore, tend to a temple to his glory.

Hobbies & Pets

He recently adopted a lamb from Haven Village. It was reported that his name is Meraldo. We hope that it is not a side effect to the Polymorph spell he received.
Vittorino takes care of this sheep very carefully. When he is not giving lessons to the children, he goes on walk around The Orphanage and proximities.

Speech

Vittorino possesses a disfluent speech. He tends to repeat syllables or even words in his sentences, as well as having long stops in the middle of them. Sometimes, he prolonges some sounds as he speaks. He is the only one of his siblings who have that condition.
