The star that has been traced across the sky for more than 2000 years has finally landed!! ALL records say it's power can grant any wish - but the rabble of *air quotes* noble */air quotes* families have decided the legends MUST mean it grants a wish like some djinn from a LAMP... ridiculous. Yet... If there is even a CHANCE it could have that power, I know a number of people that MUST NEVER FIND IT! It has landed in the Great Sea - those idiots took to the ocean as though some sign in the sky would lead them to it. It WAS the sign, and its fallen, obviously it's NO LONGER THERE. There is a monastery where many of these legends were found... my studies tell me there may be an artifact there that could actually locate this 'star'. I will find some adventurers I can trust to recover whatever may be there.

ExpeditionThose black-armored bastards were here within DAYS of the star's recovery... they must know something.... How could they possibly have known!? No matter - the guild has bought the ship, the party has secured the deed and driven the rift scum from my tower. They tried to stop us but we are UNSTOPPABLE AHaHhAhHAaHha!! We've finally got the ship and have taken to the sea!! Somehow they've found a crew... I knew these adventurers were strong and true-hearted, but I never expected them to be so resourceful!! Now - we take to the first shard. We MUST get there before the Blackrift. I MUST discover how they found us so quickly to have DELIVERED THEIR ARMY to Greyhaven before the party even returned with the compass...

It TRULY EXISTS!
Discovery, ExplorationI hoped they'd find something, but NEVER imagined they would find the most important artifact in all of astrology! They found it... The Astral Compass... It is a MARVEL of sorcery and engineering! I studied it for years at the Academy - the fools assumed it mere legend, too advanced for a society more than 1000 years old to have made. FOOLS AHAHHHAHHAHAHA!! We've all suffered at the hands of the Blackrift. I trust they will remain silent - THE ORRERY! Oh how I wish to have seen it. Not just seen it, but operated it! They said it was still operable, it still showed the heavens - could it still be accurate?? NO - The star first. If the compass does exist there could be other tools- there are more reavers at port now than there ever have been. They have watched it, for sure, could they have been sent here? Could they possibly know about the Monastery?? These 2 will not be enough... We will need a ship, we will need a team and we will need a crew - AND I WILL BE ON IT! I will not miss another opportunity like the monastery. They will need a skilled navigator, and someone who can understand their discoveries. I must study all records on the compass - and I must hire others... we will need the help of a network. Just NOT the Symposium.

Disaster / DestructionThe power of these astral shards is UNPRECEDENTED! According to ancient texts from the lizardfolk, this monstrous mountain only remained idle thanks to ever-fighting water and fire elementals. Surely - simple superstition. Or so you would think.... The lizards were CORRECT! I still struggle to believe these religious texts were true... The fought a giant wolf made of magma with a shard embedded into its heart. A GIANT WOLF MADE OF MAGMA!! What else could that be but an elemental warped by the power of the star!? Those alabaster stiffs will never believe this... they will write it off as wailing of a 'madman'. But Equity brought evidence. He returned with a completely imagined creature created by the power of this star. (THIS MUST MEAN IT IS MORE THAN SOME SILLY ROCK) This creature is literal steam grown sentient. It CHOSE to leave with them. CHOSE. It made a conscious CHOICE! I feared for its livelihood, it certainty needs much maintenance. Luckily I had the tools necessary to create a housing that will sustain its elemental energies. STEAM!! They could never even imagine the power of JUST A SHARD to physically combine two completely separate warring elementals into a gentle, benevolent being.
