The Samru Empire
Far to the west on the subcontinent of Al'san, lies the oldest Proto Nation. The Samru Empire history spans back over two thousand years to the Age of Prosperity. Established by the gathered tribes of the Surma, they quickly established a home in the shadow of the Red Spires. The dormant volcano has created fertile lands to grow hardy crops that have been able to sustain the Surma since they came to the new land. In the shadow of the Red Spires they have long prayed to the god of the sun, Sur'yo. Throughout the years they have maintained an isolationist stance with the rest of the world. While they welcome any who travel there, few have left their homeland. For centuries they have prospered as the world became a much darker place.
A New Age
After the Fifth Crusade began, the Samru Empire closed its borders from the rest of the world. The only nation they have maintained a connection with were the Free Lords of Travgin to the south. Their warlike nature forced the Red Emperor to maintain a close connection with to maintain the peace that was established. As time went on their previous stance on isolation would change when the Ko'Vati made landfall to the north. The Empire feared that the Ko'Vati would abandon the colder northern regions of Al'san for the somewhat warmer southern region. This along with the rising power of the Sulmi Republic to the east, The Empire began a large fortification project that spanned the entire southern region. Dozens of forts were built to ensure their control. A new age was dawning on the Empire as it would once again fill the lands.Demography & Population
The Samru Empire has long been an isolated nation, during the Bloodletting many Loh'kin families that fled from the genocide were turned away at the Empires borders. The Empire did make an exception for those of Aru blood as their crafting skills were highly sought after.
