Sky Daisy

General Description:

The Sky Daisy is a flower that grows in the grasslands of Welacalan. It grows to a height to taller than ones boot. It can easily be spotted due to the long sky blue petals that grow around a yellow center at the end of each stem. Small patches of Sky Daisies can be found through grassy areas but larger patches covering areas the size of buildings can be found along the side of rock faces. The flower themselves are commonly the size of the average hand with the green leaves below measuring no longer than a finger. Upon further inspection the roots run deeper that one can dig to in a short period of time.

History:

Believed to be fist discovered and cataloged by an Ersajo Scholar traveling through the grasslands of Welacalan. Many have argued that its discovery must be attributed to the natives of the land, the Es-Ran. There have been many arguments as the Es-Ran are believed by many to be mindless animals unable to distinguish such things. However I have seen the great city of Werstidhlom Esr and believe me, they are no common animal.

Uses:

In civilized society there are no practical use of Sky Daisy's. However, the Es-Ran are known to gather Sky Daisies and ground in into a blue paste. The paste is then applied to their faces as a way to distinguish one another and possibly cause fear in the heart of their enemies. Many have tried to use the paste to tint mudbricks but have found it is not potent enough without gathering an absurd amount worthy of ones time. Should one travel to the southern edge of the grasslands, many living there will pick the flowers and offer them as a gift, they refer to them as Grass Roses.

These sound lovely. I like that it gives a bit of a hint at the culture of the Es-Ran.
