Order of the White Lotus

The Order of the White Lotus is a secret order that operates within the Bank of Kampala and the Eperom Mari Trading Company. The purpose of the White Lotus is to perpetuate wars and regional conflicts in order to make a profit off of the selling of weapons, food and other goods needed during times of war. The White Lotus also chooses when to push for peace when a war becomes out of hand or the devastation will effect their bottom line. 

History

During the Bloodletting, most of the world was covered in war and death. During this time the Bank of Kampala and the Company tried to maintain a semblance of order as many of their trade lanes became under threat from the uncontrolled chaos. Angered by the loss of revenue, several powerful families gathered to discuss how order could be brought back to the world. Several hardliner families believed that the Bloodletting must continue until the world was cleansed of the impure tribes of elves. Seeing how the hardliners would call for an endless war, they were removed and plans were put into motion to bring the direction of the war under their control. What would come of this would be a stranglehold on the direction of the world.

Structure

While no known structure is widely known, its believed the order is controlled by several large and wealthy families throughout the world. There are rumors that the White Lotus is not limited to Kampalan families, several Proto, Elvin and Dwarvin families are believed to hold key positions of power.

Territories

The White Lotus is believed to operate within a half dozen nations throughout the world. Its reach is said to span the known world with only the far reaches of Antaustret & Leugros residing out of their reach.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Many believe that the White Lotus has strong ties to King Eudes the 10th & Tzar Milivoj Volkov. While only rumors surround the ties between them, many of their recent action have furthered the belief that the White Lotus hold power in their courts. In past years, the White Lotus was believed to be behind the rise of the House of Lyons after the fall of the Kingdom of Frontonce.
