House Antúnez
During the age of prosperity, the Hidne would take to the seas in search of new lands. Many others would follow them in their travels. A group of ships would head north in search of a new home, the group was led by three Loka families. Seeing an opportunity a farmer would pack up his family and sail north. In their travels they would eventually settle on an island that would eventually become known as Havas. The island's geography would be similar to those of his former home. He would find a patch of land and begin to build his home with the help of one of the Lokin families. One day while constructing his home, one of his daughters would bring him a plant unknown to him. The Loka would mention how the plant had no fruit or seed that could be eaten. The plant was more closely related to a grass that was once smoked by the first Lokin tribes during rituals for the gods. One night he would use the grass as kindling to start a fire and found the smoke to be calming and possessed a sweet smell. He would eventually convince the Loka to help him
cultivate the grass, as he believed that he could help support his family by selling the grass to those back on the mainland.
After several years he was able to cultivate the grass and began to sell it to the other locals on the island. As his business began to expand he would first sell it to the other islands around the gloomy sea. One of his largest customers would be the Sam-Var as they did not know the grass grew on any of the islands of the region. He would eventually approach them to form a business partnership where they would protect his newly constructed ships as they began to trade with the mainland. This partnership would bring great fortune to the family and over time House Antúnez would become one of the most highly respected families in the gloomy sea. The family would construct plantations throughout the Islands of Havas and began a monopoly for the tobacco of the region. Their influence and power would last for hundreds of years even until this day.
Pedals of the Rose
House Antúnez is currently led by the Antúnez sisters. The three strong headed sisters took over after the passing of their father, Eloy, before any of the marriage offers were accepted. On their fathers passing, by law the eldest, Adela, became the new head of the family. She would evenly divide their fathers estate and continue to run the family's farms and business. The pending marriages were turned down and the sisters were free to do as they wished. The tobacco farms would flourish under their care as their father often pushed production over quality. Under their watch, Antúnez tobacco would earn a stamp from the Visam Trading Company for the quality of their tobacco. Born and raised on the plantations of Havas, the Antúnez sisters have spent their lives here only leaving to study at the college at the Isle of Stone. Upon their fathers death the sisters would improve the quality of the tobacco and increase the living standards of the slaves and workers on the plantations. The plantation had an open door policy for the workers. If any needed a job could get one along with a roof over their head and two square meals.
