Orgone
Orgone is, according to Albor science, the energy that runs through all living things. It is canalized by Cabalists through Orgonite Pyramids in their gauntlets to quickly heal their patients.
Because one interacts with living things while the other does with inert flesh, it is seen as the opposite of Aether.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Orgone is a massless, omnipresent and invisible substance. However, when focused and canalized through a Pyramid, it can be seen as a glowing, purplish-pink fog. The pyramids themselves are crystals of various colors with copper wires running through their insides.
History & Usage
History
Early Albor medicine enthusiasts arrived in the Highlands with a number of "energy accumulators" they had recovered from a ruined warehouse, devices supposedly capable of creating organization in bions, the smallest units of which living things are composed. Through extensive experimentation on captured locals, it was discovered this caused rapidly accelerated bodily regeneration, and they worked (through alternating layers of organic and non-organic materials inside the walls) by concentrating in their interior a kind of putative energy that was later called "orgone".
Cultural Significance and Usage
While the most common use by far is to stabilize the life force of living things, healing various ailments, it also holds a deep cultural meaning for highlanders. Orgone is closely associated with sexuality, libido and orgasms, and thus to Life itself.
Hazards
Because the sudden absence of Orgone can have catastrophic effects on a body, devices that can substract it from living things are strictly regulated. This did not, however, stop Mason Connor from applying this principle on several people including herself. One of the affected, ex-General Tracy Blair, has reportedly turned into a terrifying mutant.
