Albor Corp.
Blessed by light and bound by oath, the Albor are here to deliver humanity from wickedness.
A corporation, a church, an order of knights and a medical institution, they represent the spiritual side of The Digital Conclave. They produce and distribute food and medicine across the nation, and enforce justice and the right to live. Not freely. Not fully. And in some cases not even for a long time. Just to live.
Structure
- Kaiser: Main leader of the faction. While the Kaiser is the absolute legislative, executive and judicial power, it can delegate some of that power to take a bit of the burden off.
- High Cardinal: Legislative authority.
- Bishop: High-ranking army commander and guardian of the faith.
- Paladin: Commander of the Palatine Bodyguards and last line of defense for the Kaiser.
- Vicar: Also known as Battle Cardinals, Vicars are prosecutors and attorneys of the Auric Court and members of the Life Inquisition.
The Sanctuaries
The industries the corporation is in charge of in the Conclave's economy are grouped into three "sanctuaries", which are not necessarily physical places, but rather a way to organize their objectives.Sanctuary of Remedy

Organizes artists, writers and musicians, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Welfare.Sanctuary of Provision
In charge of the corporation's farms all across the Conclave, as well as several laboratories. This Sanctuary is tasked with providing food as well as developing new technologies to improve production.Assets
The Albor Capital, Plaza City, and surrounding farms. Aditionally, hundreds of highlanders have pledged themselves to defend Life, in the name of the Corporation, as devoted crusaders.
History
The Albor find their origin when a group of religious dissidents from The Grip came upon a medical camp in an ancient tech museum, which would soon after become known as City of the Plaza (after the surrounding parks). The doctors from the camp were having trouble getting through to the tribals they sought to help, and were under constant attack by the particularly hostile ones. The travelers offered their help, being well versed in discourse and manipulation of the masses, in exchange for protection and a place to settle down. Thus, a set of philosophical tenets began to take form based around preservation of life, which was the main goal of the doctors. The surrounding tribes were assimilated or driven back, and the Albor Highlands were unified under one flag.
When the Digital Conclave arrived in the Highlands, it found an organized and prosperous city state, posessing well developed medicine and agriculture, as well as a spiritual side. To get them to sumbit, the Conclave appealed to these religious people. To their dismay, these Albor werent as superstitious as was previously thought, and they initially rejected the foreigners. But eventually they did agree to paticipate if a system was set in place to get them more power among their faction. Thus, with help from the Conclave, a "democratic" system was set in place to elect the Albor leader, which ensured the most popular candidate got the position (instead of the most qualified, as was the case until then).
Territories
The Albor Highlands in western The Digital Conclave are the historic domain of the eponymous corporation. Aditionally, they hold a number of farms in the Slaughter River Floodplains, north of Clay.
Foreign Relations
They are at odds with the vestiges of the Parture Corporation, whom they see as evil undead abominations that must be destroyed, and the heathen tribals of The Analogic Civilizations. However, they find allies in the Ardent and Stender.
Trade & Transport
All travel in and out of Plaza City in any direction is done exclusively through Conqueror Train, due to the dangerous surrounding terrain.
Imports:
Due to a lackluster manufactory industry, the Corporation needs to import Ardent machinery and fuel, and Stender servilons and refined metal. Its weapons, however, are produced locally due to poor relations with the Parture Corporation, and munitions and other supplies are scavenged by the mercenary Lupin Corsairs in their employ.Exports:
As the corporation in charge of food and medicine, the Albor produce enormous ammounts of meat, vegetables and pharmaceuticals both for themselves and to be sent to Scales, Clay, Glory, and even some to The Throat (albeit through intermediaries). The corporation also boasts a budding personal armor industry that they supply to prominent Stender and State Guard personnel, as well as to their own operatives.Tenets of Faith
Deprived of the old world God, the faithful turned to other objects of worship. Might. Wealth. Nature. In the case of highlanders, it was Life. As such, eternal reproduction of Life is the only virtue to be found in the universe. It is to be protected and encouraged at all costs. Any life that does not generate more life possesses no virtue. Any life that extinguishes more life than it generates is virtue corrupted, and is to be neutralized before it causes any more damage.
Ethics
Followers of the Albor are encouraged to have children. Lots of them. Some speculate an expected side effect of this is to one day outnumber all their enemies. The faction could certainly produce enough food to feed such an army.
Aditionally, Albor are expected to lead happy and cheerful lives. Plaza City is host to many parties every night, and home to galleries and theatres vibrant with art and music. This is done under the belief that unhappy citizens are more susceptible to commit suicide, the most henious crime any Albor can imagine.
Sects
Two ideological branches can be identified among the Albor, gaining prominence in recent times. Templars tend toward the interpretation of Albor dogma that favors a long and uneventful life as being "more virtuous". On the other hand, Cabalists vouch for a short and intense existence. The two differ on what makes a life "well lived": Was it long, or was it exiting? They agree both at the same time are preferrable when possible, of course.

The designated legislative authority is the Cardinal Commitee, consisting of seven High Cardinals chosen by the Kaiser from the Battle Cardinal ranks. The Commitee is in charge of the Albor Sanctuaries, as well as all military operations executed by the Corporation.
Judicial Body
Judicial authority is represented by the Auric Court, presided by a Grand Arbiter. They oversee the judging of major crimes that proved to be too much for local district squires to handle.
