Under the Forest Temple part 1 Report

General Summary

The Story Thus Far

After freeing the captive fey in the feywild, the party returned to Morianath's cavern and oasis, arriving just before they left due to the time dilation effect of being in the feywild.  The Eladrin and his cadre have set up shop in the tunnels once more, and the party has earned his trust along with the trust of the others with him.  They may be valuable allies on the road ahead.   Catching Morianath and Charanth up on what happened, the party boarded the flying boat and headed off towards the arsenal.

The Flight

During the flight, everyone did their own thing, some on their own and others with each other.  Joybell tinkered and started to tan the dragon hide that they brought back from the feywild, and started taking custom orders from the party for the scales and various pieces.   Cacline took to day drinking again, going to the galley to see how many different kinds of alcohol he could make the galley produce.  In between drinking bouts, he started working with Sa'rai on some combat techniques, the both of them hoping that it'll make her a bit harder to kill.   Verniva spent time getting to know people, and Lyra seemed to take a quick liking to her.     Thawaka talked with the voice in his head, Lohal, and started making plans to bring Lyra into the cult of the chest on a stick a bit further, perhaps as another hand or eye to further Lohal's plans.   While she wasn't training with Calcine, Sa'rai spen time reading some of her books.

The Arsenal

Arriving back at the Arsenal, the party found the ship's cradle repaired and Marvin in as good a shape as he's been.  Charanth brought some spare parts while the party began to look through the various magical items.  Many were cursed, but the party found a number that were useful and kept them around.  For an entire list, see Ellessa's amazing bookkeeping!   Once things had been sorted, the party discovered a la Marvin that there are actually two more batteries on the plane of Bramor, both others attuned to protection rather than attack, and that they were the things that protected the plane from the dragons, but that they're starting to fall into disrepair.  The Forest Weyr was also meant to be a battery of sorts, but the plan was changed midway through, so it still has remnants of the battery 'wiring' left over.     Sa'rai took an opportunity to go down to the basement of the arsenal and give a try to the Lunar sage's robe, establishing contact with Morianath who advised her that she might be ready to take up the mantle of protecting the plane, and Sa'rai kept the robe and headed off.

Beneath the Weyr

Together, the party teleported to the Forest Weyr, though a circle that was tainted with black, finding themselves flung out the other side in a fairly violent manner with illusory tentacles ensnaring Thawaka and Calcine, though the others managed to make it through fairly unscathed after.  They found themselves in the very prison they had broken Winter's Breath out of not too long ago, though this time the prison was deserted.   Heading down a level, they started to find the battery wiring and arcane energy corrupted by some sort of plant-like growth on the walls and floors.  As they splashed the blessed water from the Temple of the Silver Moon on some of it, massive creatures sprang from the muck and attacked.     After a harrowing battle, the party emerged victorious, and stands ready to move further into the corruption.  Will they be in time to stop Oberth's forces from emerging from a portal to catch Debronia in a pincher attack?   Find out next week!
