"I wake in a cold sweat. I sit up in bed and look around the humble home I've built for myself. For ourselves. I look over at my wife. In the darkness, she lays completely still. Almost too still.
I reach for a light and illuminate the room. I jump out of bed. Where my wife was sleeping, there is now just a body. The blood of the woman I loved covers the body, the sheets, even me.
The door to our home is creaking in the wind, left open. A cold breeze chills an already frozen atmosphere. I grab my lightpike and run outside. In the distance, I can see a ship leaving for orbit.
I scream. I cry. I take my lightpike into the woods and cut down tree after tree, desperate for some type of catharsis. I never find it. I feel a fire in me I have never felt before. The ever consuming flames of revenge. I will find who did this. I will show them every amount of hurt I am capable of giving them."
