The Honorable Verb (a.k.a. The Gipper)
It's hard for an Illyrian to be over-the-top, but Lord Admiral Verb, Great Majestic Supreme High Guide of Illyria and Margrave of the Illyrian Marches, does it effortlessly. Supremely confident, never worried, Verb moves through the universe like a tornado, leaving broken hearts, screaming fans, and large messes in his wake.

Personal history
Born into a prominent family, Verb showed early promise as a flamboyant showman and extrovert. At mandatory testing just after reaching puberty, examiners determined that he should be on the "leader track" on Illyria (the leader track has nothing to do with actual governmental authority, but everything to do with maintaining the fiction of a single charismatic leader who can inspire Illyrians).
After graduating from the academy, Verb enlisted in the Illyrian Space Militia, reaching the rank of captain swifter than any other officer in a generation. With his trusty assistant Kiff at his side, Verb rose quickly through the ranks. Despite his leadership training (or perhaps because of it), Verb actually was a good commander - calm, rational, decisive when necessary. During the Pointless War, then-Commodore Verb commanded the left wing of the Space Militia in the Battle for Sector 22153, and scored a overwhelming victory with minimal casualties. For his actions, he was awarded the Legendary Hero of the Day, Week, and Year from the Illyrian government, and the Imperial Badge of Courage.
Verb took personal leave after the war and worked with a personal voice trainer, then began performing. His surprise hit, "I Get My Thing In Action," became a double iridium single song, and reached number 1 on the intergalactic pop music charts for three weeks. He spent a galactic standard year touring with his band before returning to active duty.
During this period of time, Verb became renowned as a sex symbol: holo-images of him sold like hotcakes. Many Illyrian women claimed that he wooed and seduced them, and that they had birthed his love child. To every accusation of paternity, he gleefully accepted responsibility and added the child's name to the growing list of children he is supposed to have fathered. To Verb's credit, his financial managers pay every credit of owed child support.
While he considered switching careers to star in holo-novellas, he chose to remain in the navy. Soon after he returned to military service, Lord Admiral Tern was ignominiously retired for the heinous crime of telling an meandering off-topic personal anecdote during a military briefing. Verb applied for and competed to succeed him. Out of 17 applicants, Verb came out victorious, his precise spelling and ingenious use of a pogo stick placing him head and shoulders above the competition.
Since his ascension, Verb has worked tirelessly to inspire Illyrians in their duties. Military recruitment has increased 41% since he became Lord Admiral and Supreme High Guide. He also refuses to meddle in the actual mechanics of government, leaving that to the highly competent team of bureaucrats.
Employment
Verb is the head of all Illyrian military space forces within the Empire, commanding the Illyrian space militia in the Marches. He holds the courtesy title of Admiral in the Imperial Navy, and attends the Celestial Court as Margrave of the Illyrian Marches (although his position there is merely a figurehead – a council of bureaucrats actually rules the Marches).

Along with his military career, Verb has the #1 hit music single “I Get My Thing in Action” and has put out collections of traditional throat-songs popular with Illyrians, including "Throat Songs for the Holidays," and "Let Get Humming."
