Hesperides
Geography
Hesperides is a perfect world of rolling hills, verdant meadows, flowing rivers and soaring mountains. An army of landscape technicians, botannical engineers, foresters, and others laboriously sculpt the planet's natural beauty according to the whims of the Emperor.
The Great Houses of the Empire can lease land grants and have built glorious palaces for their use while on the throneworld of the Empire, but the main population center is the Imperial Court. It is there that all laws and pronouncements are made. The Imperial Court is more than simply a government building; it is a small city that includes the Imperial Palace, various gardens and parks, restaurants, hostels, and entertainment centers. No expense is spared to make the experience beyond perfection at all times.
Ecosystem
Hesperides has an oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere, breathable by most species. While it has several rivers and lakes, it does not have any oceans. Its gravity is 1.1 standard G. While Hesperides has no natural moons, the Imperial space station that orbits the planet is large enough to be seen with the naked eye.
The standard day on Hespierides lasts 22 Standard hours. Its year is only 165 local days long.
Climate
Hesperides' seasons are controlled by machines, and is generally locked in an eternal summer, unless the Emperor chooses to alter the season. There is some variation in temperature and weather depending on how close to the poles or equator, but never enough to naturally alter the seasons.
History
After the fall of the Republic and the rise of the First Galactic Empire, Hesperides was claimed by the emperor as a vacation refuge. However, over the centuries, more and more emperors began to avoid returning to Petrion, and finally, the Imperial Court was relocated to Hesperides.
Since that time, Hesperides has been the most important planet in the galaxy. Even after the fall of the First Empire and the Second Dark Age, Hesperides remained a beacon of beauty and power.
Tourism
Hesperides is not for the average tourist. A being must be specifically invited to come to Hesperides by the Imperial government, usually through the Ministry of Administration. As there are no universities on Hesperides, no students come to the planet, nor are there historical landmarks on the world, as no wars have even been fought here.
