Caligo
Caligo has a desolate beauty, so say its inhabitants – if you can see it. The planet is swathed in purple clouds and mists comprised of onium gases in the methane/nitrogen atmosphere. Within the mists lies a rocky world with soaring spires of rock, deep valleys, and streams and rivers of liquid ammonia that pour into large swamps where hydrogen trees grow. But it is the mists that cover the planet that have defined both the planet and the native sentient race’s development.
Caligo’s gravity is considered on the high end of the normal range at 1.2 G. A day on Caligo lasts 34 standard hours, and a Caligo year is 270 local days long. 4 moons orbit Caligo, which the native Mesutaani have named Aratohu (“the Guide”), Pupuhi (“the Trickster”), Ra-roa (“Day-long”) and a fourth small moon that they refused to name. In ancient times, being born when this last moon was full was a sign of bad luck.
