House Bascio
The House of Bascio is a powerful patrician family of the Aeriscan League that accumulated much wealth and political influence through their merchant fleets. The current patriarch of the family is Senator Nicolaio Bascio, who rules both his family and his business empire with an iron fist.
House Bascio exerts a great deal of influence over the Porto Eliva district of Abria, giving them control over the city-state's shipping and ship-building industries.
History
Even prior to the events of the Refugium, the Bascio family was a prominent and wealthy patrician clan of the Rexan Empire. The Aersican branch of the family would go on to be a founding family of the League, leveraging the fact that many of the ships that brought Rexan refugees to the shores of Aerisca Borealis belonged to Feo Bascio's fleet.
