The City of Hinterweil
The city of Hinterweil, to the East of Pepirra and the North of Valkour, is the second largest city in Palora behind Avalon.
Currently (392), Hinterweil is running out of fish due to the plague in Pepirra.
Hinterweil is a city built inside of the crater of an impact, making the walls of the city much higher due to being mounted on the rim. One spot pushes through this rim, a canal that goes almost to the center of the city.
The castle has restricted access (by invitation only), as do the Noble district (searched and only for a good reason) and the King's Market (identity verified and usually a sponsor/reference letter from some important group is needed)
Areas for commerce:
The Low Street Market - common goods, anything less than 10 GP and not restricted.
The High Street Market - Uncommon and high quality goods, anything less than 100 GP and only lightly restricted.
The King's Market - Anything over 100 GP, magical items, restricted items.
The Jaunt - Gambling
The Black Dragon - Brothel & drug den
The Astral Sea - Restaurant & dance club
The Enris - Restaurant, performance venue, & brothel
The Sunrise Seffe - Human-only Restaurant & Spa
The Skull Dagger inn - Inn with some amenities (baths, food)
Mel's Greathall - Inn with no amenities The King's Market:
Unlike the bustling high street and the rowdy low street, the King's Market was a calm shopping center. Over a hundred and fifty stores, the buildings were all built in unison of stone blocks, the same style as the castle which loomed at the SouthWestern end of the diagonal street, framed perfectly by the first two stores.
On the North side of the gate was a cafe of significant renown, run by a gold scaled half dragon and called "Nestegg"
The store to the East side of the gate was "Vermillion" a clothing and fabric boutique with red decorations made of their trademark dye.
The remainder of the market was split into twelve sections:
1: Food and drink
2: Clothing
3: Accessories and Jewelry
4: Vehicles
5: Construction & Home renovation
6: Furniture & Home decorations
7: Auction houses
8: Magical Services
Korin's Enchantments - mostly helpful spells with occasional unique stuff and several mages on staff to cast.
The Transformatorium - a place of transformations and modifications.
Magus's Market - the most general purpose. scrolls, books, education, and pay-to-cast magic.
