Death Apple

The Death Apple is a flowering plant found in the coastal realms. It produces a green fruit that gives the plant its name. This fruit contains a milky sap that is bitter to the taste, and quite toxic. when exposed to the air, the sap becomes extremally tacky and is difficult to remove from surfaces.
The fibers of the Death Apple can be used to make a kind of linen. This textile is sometimes found in the garments of the nobility of Berelond.
An extract, drawn from the leaves of the plant, is used in the making of Vagassi cheese. This is a trade secret of the cheesemakers of the town of Parouka in Berelond.
Some Alchemists use the toxic sap of the death apple to craft a potent blade poison. But they wisely do not advertise this dangerous product.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

While not unknown in other parts of the coastal realms, the Death Apple is common to the southern edges of the Duchy of Berelond.
