Rift
The waters of the Rift are tranquil at their edges and grow more volatile near the Crater where storms can appear and disappear seemingly without warning. It also serves as the geographical barrier between the Civilized Kingdoms of the west and the Barbarian Kingdoms of the east, though the latter scoff at that title. I've only traveled the length of the Rift once and have no desire to do so again.

Geography
The Rift runs from southern Ranthia between Newshire and Stronghaven(location) to northern Ranthia between Prylea and Coldfield. Its salt water is the most convenient shipping route from northern Ranthia to the south without traveling around the continent for those captains willing to risk the dangers closer to the Crater.
