Psammokinesis (SAM-oh-kihn-EE-sis)
Psammokinesis, also called psammomancy or simply sand magic, is a class of magic involving the manipulation and weaponization of sand. It is a subclass of terramancy.
Effect
Psammokinesis is primarily used as a weapon, though can be used as a tool to create glass, if combined with fire magic.
Side/Secondary Effects
Psammokinetic side effects are relatively benign compared to other magics, and the worst that may happen is getting sand in one's eyes, mouth, or clothes.
Manifestation
The manifestation of psammokinesis varies greatly by the spell, but across all spells, the main indication is the presence of sand.
Source
Psammokinesis is commonly drawn from either the user's internal magic pool, or the ambient magic around them.
Discovery
Psammokinesis was born with and first used by Terra, the Goddess of Nature. It was then learned by mortals.

Material Components
Psammokinetics cannot manifest sand out of thin air, and as such they usually carry a container of sand with them at all times. The size and amount of sand within this container can greatly vary.

Applied Restriction
Psammokinetics must have pre-existing sand to work with. If the sand gets wet, the psammokinetic will no longer be able to use it effectively. Additionally, psammokinetics cannot work in areas protected by anti-spells or other magical dead zones.
