Despite his hatred of magic, Anderson has been seen using magic on several occasions, though the extent of his power and what type of magic he uses is unknown. It can be assumed that his charisma is tied to magic somehow, as many have trouble refusing anything he asks of them, and will often violate their own moral code just to please Anderson.

Personal history

Much of James Anderson's history is unknown, and his childhood is undocumented. As an adult, he gained much influence in politics and government over time, becoming a senator in the human government. Roughly four years before the Great War, Anderson became the President of the human government, though the details of how he got there apparently differ from person to person when asked. Around the same time, companies that were working on artificial intelligence received massive boosts to their funding, and it is theorized that Anderson's administration was the cause, although this has never been confirmed. As the boom in AI continued, many notable directors quit their jobs, supposedly because their AI was being used for weapons and combat research, which they disapproved of.
Four years later, the human government released a global broadcast to all who were able to view it. The announcement was brief, but made clear that magic, and any other races besides humans, were a threat to humanity, and they were to be expelled from all human settlements and arrested. This broadcast coincided with the deployment of power armor-clad soldiers and war vehicles around the globe, which were used to slaughter as many non-humans as possible. In the early days of the war, many humans who had made friends and worked with non-humans protested, but were quickly labeled as traitors and either killed or arrested, never being seen again after their arrest.
During this time, Anderson often attended battlefields personally to oversee humanity's genocide, often against his advisors' wishes. Somehow though, Anderson never sustained a single injury during these oversights, and often returned satisfied to locations unknown when he was finished. After many of the non-humans had been killed, Anderson authorized the activation of many simultaneous forcefields around every known human settlement; forcefields with systems that gradually filtered any ambient magic out, leaving many human cities as magic "dead zones", where no magic could be performed, save magic drawn from the user's own internal pool. Magicians who did this, human or not, were promptly hunted down and killed.
At present, Anderson's whereabouts and motives are unknown, though he can occasionally be seen on broadcasts in human settlements. No filming location is ever seen twice in said broadcasts.

Anderson's morality (or lack thereof) is clear: He has a deep hatred of all magic and any magical creature or race that isn't human. He had no qualms in ordering the deaths of millions, nor in ordering the executions of humans who defied him. He will use anything and everything at his disposal to ensure his new world order remains unchallenged, and even his most loyal advisors are seen as mere tools to be used and thrown away when they've served their purpose. The only things he puts his faith in are robots and artificial intelligence; constructs that will obey regardless of what they are asked to do.
