They can change their bodies into shapes suitable to any task, including emulating tools such as hammers or saws. Changelings are able to infect and absorb other beings which they can then emulate. Many people believe the Changelings were originally created or tamed by the Shi'Xul, though the existence of the god Gomingravan in early Akasharic works suggest that they precede even the Shi'Xul, hailing from a distant realm where their kind is commonplace.     Changeling Anatomy Changelings can range significantly in size from human-sized to the size of a large whale and are capable of merging into larger communities known as 'blobs'. While normally quite intelligent, starved groups of Changelings will often form into blobs to survive, terrorizing the countryside and eating cattle and small villages. While in this state, Changelings lose their individuality and are motivated purely by hunger. Individually or in a group, Changelings lack the anatomical boundaries of a normal human body. They do not have hearts, stomachs or other individual organs, rather they seem to be primarily comprised of a living, semi-transparent humor capable of fulfilling multiple roles at once.   Impact The Changelings are had a major impact on the Eldriad in the Age of Stolen Faces and Changeling War Interregnum and are widely known amongst the people of the Bastions. Some people believe that some Changelings may have survived in positions of power and later went on to play a role in the Cassildan Betrayal Interregnum, hiding amongst the Fleshwarpers of Ythill or even the Shadow Courts of Carcosa. Some even believe that the Yellow King himself may have been a Changeling Mage of great power, or even that the later Seers of Kasbenir were simply a sinister cabal of Changelings who would murder their patrons and replace them with pliant dopplegangers.       The difficulty in truly understanding the level which Changelings infiltrated mortal society and what part they played in the mistrust and disobedience that led to the Great War Interregnum is a point of wild but tempting speculation.   Habitat Changelings may have once originated from the Empty Cities within the Wilds of Tekel'i, but they have long since proliferated above and below the surface especially in the silence of The Fall Interregnum
