The Mystics of the Golden Sphere believe that this world is merely a projection of powerful psychic entities whose powerful beings and artifacts capable of substantiation and alteration magic. Exhumed from the ruins of Sanshid some 6000 years ago by the Satrangani, The Sanshid Spheres are powerful artifacts which can be entered using special rituals and preparation which culminates in the destruction of the mortal body. Once entered, the spheres are powerful conduits capable of substantiating the thoughts and wishes of those within and around the sphere. Mystics of the Golden Sphere Way seek to eliminate emotional and physical impurity through transformation away from physicality and physical needs. Despite few mystics ever truly being able to breach the spheres, many mystical movements are devoted to this pursit. Such institutions value the purity of logic and analysis beyond all else, seeking to elevate themselves beyond petty emotion and personal need.

In order to accomplish this task, such monks undergo many forms of ritual, physical and alchemical purification to transcend the seemingly physical boundaries of the universe, engaging in trepanning, meditation and a curious form of self-preservation that involves
