Esorath (Es-or-ath)

A large, roughly egg-shaped continent connected by mountainous regions to Hilgar, thought to be the origin of the Kapu subspecies of the Amanu. Esorath has the largest conintental interior of any land mass on Geron, hosting a broad expanse of arctic taigas, cold deserts, dry steppes and even humid tropical forests and archipelagos to the southeast. Esorath literally translates to 'eastward journey' and is often considered to have once had the most easterly port in the world, Esorath hosts one of the oldest Amanu kingdoms, that of Ahyun, a beurocratic legalist state whose central seat of rule has remained more or less intact since the Age of River Kings, despite occaisionally changing hands between ethnic groups.

Naturally separated from its western counterpart of Hilgar by a series of indomitable mountain chains, the few remaining overland routes from Higar to Esorath involve traversing the black storms of the Sarkand Rift, the Tessar Maze or Leng Sandsea, and one must then still contend with massive mountains and their desolate high-altitude cold deserts. Beyond are the endless taigas of Untanaq, the mountainous forests and warm islands of Torangh, or even the distant jungles and mountain pillars of Yulai. Esorath's jagged and frozen northern coasts eventually lead to the remote mountains and islands of Kidukan, while its southern coast is mostly arid to the west before breaking into tropical jungles and archipelagoes of Ramongan.
The Grand Accord holds little sway over Esorath. Much of the continent is missing from contemporary maps and goods from the region are considered status symbols by merchants in the middle east, but just a thousand years ago or so, even the most easterly of Esorath's continental coasts were once part of great trade routes.
