Astor Varangoth
His Majesty, Astor Gunnisson Varangoth
The Ealdorman of Varangoth, a direct descendant of King Halvor. He laid claim to the throne in 890 with support from the Prince of Lowenthal. After arriving in Trondalen he comes across the Alliance of the Dragon in Ravenheim. Gundar and Solmund swear loyalty to him, and are accepted as members of the Alliance of the Lion. He became the first king of the Eylands since 862. Still, his position is threatened by foreign invaders from the North and South, and fellow bastard houses are still on the prowl. He chose his childhood sweetheart, Runa Varston, as his queen, which led to some controversy, but was eventually accepted.
