King of the Eylands
King Ragnald was first crowned in 519, most likely near the Northern coast of Norland shortly after discovering the islands. As of the current year, 891, twenty-two kings have ruled over the Eylands. The kingdom has been in a continuous succession crisis over the last twenty-eight years. They traditionally ruled from the Palace in Trondalen, its surrounding domain and all territory around the islands not divided into lordships. However, very little land has not yet been granted to a nobleman. Later, the king was mostly responsible for peacekeeping, passing laws and securing trade with both the Northern and Southern continents. All ruling kings, whether hereditary or elected, bear the national coat of arms as their own. Since 890, House Varangoth has reclaimed the hereditary right of kingship, with mounting support in most of the Eylands.
