Adventurers

While it may not be considered to be the most glamorous position, it is often held in high regard by both peasant and lord alike. The Everwuld is a wild and dangerous place. And as such, those who would seek to become adventurers must be brave, smart, and resilient to have a hope in surviving.

Career

Qualifications

To become an adventurer, you do not need to meet some arbitrary set of guidelines. But if you wish to remain in the profession for long, one must be smarter than most, stronger than most, and more alert than most, or in the habit of surrounding oneself with people with those talents.

Career Progression

Most adventurers languish in relative obscurity for most of their careers, going out on expeditions trying to find major discoveries or artifacts only to return home empty handed. However, should an adventurer make a lucky break, find a never before seen ruin filled with old world technology, or fend off invasions of truly some of the most hideous monsters of the wuld, their names will become household items.

Payment & Reimbursement

Most adventurers operate as independent contractors for an organization known as the 'Hunter's Guild.' This Guild takes contracts submitted by various organizations or individuals and offers them to members. The more successful jobs an adventurer or group has completed the higher standing their position in the guild, netting them higher paying and more dangerous jobs.

Other Benefits

Most officially certified Adventurer's are recognized as such and are capable of moving between kingdom borders with relative ease, although the Clockwork Empire will still attempt to impound any adventurer's magic items. Due to their reputation for braving the wilderness and killing dangerous monsters, most adventurers are respected by laymen and some lords.

Operations

Provided Services

Adventurer's do everything from hunting dangerous monsters that may pose a risk to a city or settlement, to guarding trade caravans, to supporting researchers in the field.
