Culture and cultural heritage

Siblings inherit when someone dies, and children generally do not. When children come of age, they are supplied with what they need to make a life for themselves, and receive little further assistance.

Average technological level

They are skilled metal workers, though they have few mines. Magic is less known and more distrusted than other societies.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

The Eiduini tattoo themselves so that all may know their life. Facial tattoos represent who they are (name, profession, marital status, homeland). Arm tattoos represent their achievements and skills. Body tattoos are more personal, and are only displayed to close friends or family. Hiding your face is distrusted or even insulting.

Common Myths and Legends

The Eiduani faith is dualistic, with the two aspects representing life and death. They are not seen as beings to be worshiped, but sources to draw power from. Eiduani spiritual leaders do not reject other deities, though they are downplayed and assimilated into Eiduani faith. Deities from Ruvian and other religions are incorporated as "facets" of Rhema (life) or Havelkar (death).

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Makeups, perfumes, and adornments are seen as frivolous and weak, though they are starting to see use in areas of Ruvian influence.

Gender Ideals

Men and women tend towards different professions and skills, though both are common in leadership positions.

Relationship Ideals

Though most marriages are a "partnership" of two people, Eiduini may take many spouses. A powerful figure is expected to have this form of marriage. These marriages are less equal, and are described as a "leader" and "followers". This is not limited by gender. A follower may never be in more than one marriage at once.   In polygamous marriages, the "follower" partner is able to leave at any time (and often does if the "leader" suffers a loss of power. The "leader" is not able to set aside a spouse though, and would face significant social ostracism.
