The Hubris of the Gods destroys the Etherium and brings an end to an Epoch.

Nobody knows which faction, race or God caused it or if it was even intentional. However two things are known, it left the Etherium broken and scattered and it killed the Gods. Its true form and making are also unknown, but surely it was either some machine of madness or foolish working of magic that caused the incomprehensibly destructive blast that ripped apart the Etherium obliterating much of it in the process. Great torrents of power flooded across reality, decimating entire civilizations and spheres. When the aftershocks subsided the Ethereum was left in tatters and the Gods were gone.
