Peace had been hard fought for, and for a time it persisted. But everything changed when the Empire of Scales attacked. The first thing they noticed was the slow overshadowing of the distant Nodes. One, Two, Three massive Aether Ships, large enough to block out the light of the nodes, arrived without warning or provocation. And with them Dragons! Fire and lightning rained down on the Free Sphere Phao, her peoples ran screaming unable to hide from the torrent of destruction. Out of their gargantuan ships came vast armies, captivating all they came across and killing any that resisted. They wielded strange weapons that cut through any weapon or armor, lead by towering beings with similar visages to the Dragons that had come with them. It was over in a day.
