Runeborg
In generations past, travellers to Runeborg had to follow the rocky shore of Norrs Lake until after several hours they spied a small fortress jutting up from the prominence where it overlooks the lake. A ferry out of Drakay made the arduous trek unnecessary for merchants and other travellers, but the ferry was discontinued two months ago, cutting off Runeborg (and its eastward neighbour, Svarholt) from the rest of the villages except by the overland route.
Village residents are furious that the ferry service has stopped, mainly because they have not received deliveries of mead from the village of Keskog, and the taverns have run dry. As if things weren't bad enough, the village's harbor has frozen over.
