Jeakae, Eidolon of Bonds

In the tumultuous theater of life, where tragedy and comedy dance hand in hand, none command the stage like Jeakae, the Eidolon of Bonds. Bound by no mask yet adorned by all, he weaves the fates of mortals with the crimson strings of blood contracts. In his grand play, he is the puppeteer and we, the puppets, dance upon his stage to the symphony of life and death. He is the binder of the bleeding, the tailor of vengeance, his quill etching destinies into the very flesh of the willing and the desperate. With the might of his dominion, he weaves stories of blood and pain, of vengeance and retribution, pulling the threads of fate to his whims. His tales echo in the hushed whispers of taverns, the silent prayers of vengeance, the piercing screams of conflict. Yet, within his tales of pandemonium, are the hidden chords of growth and strength. For in the chaos he orchestrates, mortals discover the lengths of their own courage, the depths of their love, the potency of their resolve.   Though feared, he is also revered. Revered by those who have found justice in his contracts, strength in their struggles, and a voice in their vengeance. His followers, bound by blood, sing his praises in the resounding echoes of their victories, the sharp edges of their sacrifices, the silent aftermath of their retribution. They do not worship him for mercy or for peace, but for the cold justice of the blood contract, the clarity of purpose, and the binding promise of vengeance fulfilled.   Jeakae, Eidolon of Bonds. The Pandemonious Playwright, Drythen of Blood, Tailor of Vengeance and Puppeteer of Revenants, is a feared deity with a smaller following compared to the other deities on Ysenn. Unlike other feared deities, whom are usually feared for their direct power to slaughter and destroy, the pandemonious playwright is said to use people as puppets in his pieces on the stage of life for his entertainment, which usually does not end well for those he has selected to be his actors.

Stories, Myths and Legends

  • The First Blood Contract, Long ago, a Drythe was betrayed by his closest friend and lost his Drythedom. The betrayal consumed him with a need for vengeance so strong, it reaching the ears of Jeakae, the Eidolon of Bonds. Sensing the man's fury, Jeakae appeared to him, promising to grant his vengeance, if the man would only sign a contract. The contract was no parchment, but a sacred bond, etched in the very flesh of the noble. As the noble man agreed, his blood mixed with that of Jeakae's, forming the first Blood Contract. The noble man exacted his revenge, fulfilling the conditions of the contract, and was forever known as the First Venger.
  • The Tale of the Unmasked Actor, In the bustling streets of Kudendnal, a grand play was to be held. The mysterious playwright, known only as the Unmasked Actor, promised a performance that would never be forgotten. It is said that the Unmasked Actor was Jeakae in disguise, using the city's inhabitants as his cast. As the play unfolded, so did the city's secrets. Betrayals were revealed, secrets were exposed, and blood was shed. By the end, the people of Kudendnal have never fully be able to trust eachother again, a scar that lingers till this day.
  • The Rynekajyrer, It is said on Ysenn, that there once was a man betrayed by a Drythen whom had killed his family and burnt his home to the ground. In rage and despair the man swore on Jeakae, Eidolon of Bonds's name to wreak vengeance upon the Drythen. And at last he stood above his body beat to a bloody pulp smeared across the ground. Yet his thirst for vengeance was not quenched, and he once again swore that he would fulfill the vengeance of anyone who would swear it, until the only man in all of Ysenn whom anyone has sworn vengeance on, was himself. The stories claim that he smiled as he let the crowds tear him apart.
  • The Ballad of the Red Strings, This is a song sung in hushed tones in the corners of taverns, telling of Jeakae's ability to manipulate the fate of anyone. The ballad describes a young woman who danced through life without care or consequence. Jeakae, intrigued by her laxity, touched her life with his crimson strings. The woman found her path much like a story, full of conflict, twists and turns, leading her into a life of danger and struggle. However, in the struggle she found a strength within her she never knew existed. By the time Jeakae removed his strings, the woman had become greater than she ever would have been without his interference. This ballad is a reminder that Jeakae's influence, while often feared, can sometimes lead to unexpected strength and growth.
  • The Blood-born Revenant, In the early days of the world, a warlord had conquered many lands through bloodshed and terror. His cruelty was unending, and his lust for power, insatiable. It was then that a warrior rose from the carnage of one of the warlord's many massacres, pulled back to life by Jeakae's blood-soaked strings. The Eidolon of Bonds had created the first Revenant. The revenant, filled with the collective rage of all who had fallen, challenged the warlord. Their battle was fierce and deadly, but the revenant, empowered by Jeakae's vengeance, finally ended the warlord's reign. It's said that the revenant still walks the earth, a puppet of Jeakae, righting wrongs and exacting vengeance on the cruel and unjust.
  • The Tumultuous Theater, In the heart of Kudendnal, stands the Tumultuous Theater, the only known house of worship to Jeakae. Legend tells of its creation by a troupe of performers who found themselves caught up in one of Jeakae's plays. Surviving the ordeal and recognizing the power of the Eidolon of Bonds, they built the theater to honor and appease him. The theater captures people in conflict and brings them to the theater puppeteering out fitting plays that resolve them, often ending in the death of all or some of the participants. It is said that during these performances, the air inside the theater thickens with a palpable tension, as though the very spirit of Jeakae himself watches from the wings.
