Ysenn

Creature, creature of primordial bearing
Thy esprit slain by eidolonic tearing
Thy rend flesh, earth became, under our feet
Thy spilt blood, fire became, lest the beat
Thy last breath, wind became, its dance wild
Thy trailed tears, seas became, we all your child
creature, creature of primordial bearing
Know the espirit of your children is still raring
-Poem Death and Birth of Ysenn by Unknown

Ysenn is a plane in the eternal sea known for its cold temperatures, strong winds, mountainous terrain and harsh wildlife. It is often called the graveyard of crowns, due to the eventual collapse of all kingdoms ever formed on it. As of the year 9341 in the interim of insolvency, it has eleven loosely agree upon regions.

  • Nosregjen - Calm grass covered hills at the center of the plane littered with ruins and remains of long collapsed kingdoms.
  • Leanroh - The region with the least harsh weather and wildlife.
  • Selvrig - A coast of fishing, sea monster slaying and trade.
  • Ghjerin - A large deep forest of ancient overgrown creatures.
  • Ynnfelin - A rune enchanted enclave of lightly forest covered islands.
  • Jholm - A long range of tall cold mountains littered with resilient creatures.
  • Kengavar - A shattered land of mudflats and cliffs.
  • Whedren - A sour and stagnant quagmire filled with malignant creatures.
  • Shennor - An ash-ridden wasteland of burned and broken remains, pits and deep tunnels.
  • Kudendnal - A volcanic island of smoke, cracks and vents.
  • Jytjun - A set of cursed islands infected by strange plants, magic and creatures.

Like almost all planes on the eternal sea, it is said that the lands and sea of Ysenn are the remnants of the body off a long dead primordial creature which it is said Ysenn derives its name from. Its slayer was the sailor of the eternal sea Fjagnarh the thousand felled, whom died shortly after the battle, becoming the first buried and Ysenn's Eidolon of graves and the slain.

According to scholars, the remnants of the primordial creature caused the birth of the Gianasti. A race of colossal elemental humanoids. It is currently accepted that the Genasi, Giants and Genies are all descendants of this race.
